I am never intentionally doing things to get myself in trouble but for some unknown reason trouble seems to find me. Things started taking a turn for the worse starting this past summer. My dad wasn't living at home at the time so my mom was allowing me to do a little bit more than normal. It was the first weekend of summer, Bonifest weekend. The Bonifest is a small carnival that the church in town holds and I go to it every year. This year I decided to go with my friend Lydia. Lydia and I had grown quite close over the past couple weeks and I couldn't imagine spending the first weekend of summer going into our senior year with anybody else. Lydia had asked if I minded if some of her friends came with us. I had never meet these people but …show more content…
When we got there, they had lights everywhere. With a ride that was so fast in high it made my stomach turn just looking at it. The bad was so loud and energetic, and although not the best put on an amazing show that made you want to have just as much fun as possible. The smell of funnel cake was in the air and I was had a smile on my face the whole time. We rode every ride possible, danced to the not so good music and laughed until our stomachs hurt. I never wanted the night to end. This was the first night in a long time that I could remember having that much fun. I was surrounded by people who I genuinely enjoyed. As it was approaching eleven and the carnival was shutting down, I didn't want to leave my new friends. I was supposed to go home after the carnival but I had called my mom and asked for permission to go out to dinner with Lydia and my new friends. She told me that I could go but I needed to be home by midnight because she didn't want to stay up to late. I said “ Thanks mom, love …show more content…
When we left, JT and I rode together, Lydia and our friend Maddie, who also decided to go, went together and Tommy and Rasheed went together. For some reason that is still unknown, Rasheed and Tommy took thirty minutes longer than everybody else to get there. The rest of us went inside and ordered our food and just talked. We talked about super personal things. I barely knew these people but I had never felt more comfortable in my life. You know what they say, time flies when you're having fun, and that's exactly what happened. I was 11:45 and I still hadn't gotten my food yet. My phone was dead but I figured that since my mom knew where I was and what I was doing that it would be okay. I never lost interest in what we were talking about. For whatever reason, Tommy started talking about how he is very intimidated by bald men. Just as he was explaining why I look up and my dad is at the door. My dad who is bald no less. I checked the time and it was 12:45. He looked at me and I could tell by the tense eyes and stiff body movement that I was in trouble. He looked me dead in the eyes and
After we went to all the stores, we got something to eat. They had a little shark restaurant, where they had sharks swimming around in big tanks next to us while we ate. I thought it was really cool to watch as you ate. The food there was not the best selection, but I still ate what was there. After we were done eating, we went out to go to the main events. There were 5 or 6 of them that went to that were really cool. It was really cool to see, they had little “adventures” that they went on, on stage, which were cool. The had sound effects, props galore and the acting was really
It was November 20, 2016 the day that I had left for Cancun Mexico. Me, my brother, my mom, and my Grandma and Grandpa all 5 of us in my Yukon Denali on our way the the Hilton Double Tree. It took about an hour and half to get to Chicago Illinois, but on the way there we had to make a few pit stops in Valpo to get my brother some flip-flops that we ended up losing in Mexico. On our way there we had kept in contact with the other 9 people we were going with, My cousin Sean had checked in on us a few times, and asked us how far we were from the place we were heading which was called Portillo's. It's a restaurant that is amazing all of us were going to meet there for dinner before we would all head to the hotel. When we had gotten there my 3
Even though I believe the poster “The Navy Needs You” is the better poster out of the six, there might think that the “If I Fail He Dies” is better. The “If I Fail He Dies” poster has many colors and a good message. It is very persuasive in trying to get people to be nurses in the war. The poster has images of what it's is like in the war, as well as what it is like to help “Work For The Red Cross”.
The carnival was the highlight of all kids every year. The rides like the zipper, and the fireball would always get my adrenaline
A year ago, that was when the idea engraved itself onto Gosalyn’s mind although, she suspected it was always there, the idea, growing in the back of her head. The thoughts it sprouted always seemed to “fit-in” with everything else to an almost seamless degree.
We got there at noon and our cousins were coming. For the rest of that day we went swimming and ate at a restaurant named chef mickeys. On our second day we went to the magic kingdom.
Over Christmas break, I was invited to go to a friend’s house. I got the invite pretty late in the evening, but I still wanted to go. I still live with my parent’s, so that was where I was staying over break. Ever since I turned 18, I don’t really have to tell my mom where I am going or when I’ll be back, but I usually mention it to her, so she won’t be worried about me. When I decided to go over to my friend’s house, my mom was already asleep, granted it was not that late at night. I did not want to wake her up, so I just left without her knowledge. I thought that I was being thoughtful by not waking her up, but I decided to send her a text message for her to see when she woke up, so she wouldn’t be worried or wonder where I was. I woke up at my friend’s house to my mom calling me. When I answered,
A few more bands performed their music, and the time in between sets you can calmly talk to the other people at the show. The best thing about starting a conversation with a random person is you get to learn so much about their history and cool interesting things they have learned along the way. All of the “scary” punk kids I saw before the show, after talking to them I realized they are the coolest and most down to earth people I have ever met. By the time the headliner band The Dead Kennedy’s came on, there were four separate mosh pits and lots of crazies going around. By that time I cut my lip, gotten punched in the nose and I had that feeling I would be in a world of pain the next morning. But it was one of the best nights I have ever had, and it was more than seeing one of my favorite bands it was a true experience.
I walked into the party with my friends and started dancing and eating and jamming out. It was the best thing that has happened in a long time. As we saw they had a pool we went outside to watch people jump off the newly built cabin right next to this old filthy one I just noticed. Someone fell off the roof and broke a leg. But he was ok.
Although I have been to many special events in my life, the latest one I went to was when I went to the county fair. When I first walked into the fair, I could smell the aroma of funnel cakes, hot greasy pretzels glazed with salt and hot melting cheese. I could hear the sound of pigs snorting, goats bleating, cows mooing, and chickens screaming at one another. I knew when I got there I would have the time of my life.
When we walked in and could smell the chocolate it smelt delicious. We had to wait in a long line to get our tickets. Then when we got up to the ticket counter and had to decide what we wanted to do. We picked to do the make your own candy bar and the Christmas lights tour. Then there was this ride that you got in These little cart like thing on this
Major depressive disorder is a mood disorder that can be found among many Americans, reaching roughly three percent of adults and eleven percent of adolescents living in the United States. Other forms of less severe depression affect about ten percent of adult Americans. Women are more likely to be affected by this disorder than men, and women in their 30’s are also more likely to be affected than women of any other age group. In the criminal justice world, many adults who are put in prison or commit violent crimes suffer from a mental illness. Prison conditions aren’t like staying in a five star hotel by any means. Contact with people outside the prison is dependent on behavior of inmates, and the cells only meet the
The first day of the magical trip was spent in Magic Kingdom where my friends and I made the best out of the abysmal weather situation and were able to obtain extra fastpass tickets for Space Mountain--the unquestioned best ride in Magic Kingdom--for that night. We proceeded to ride the spooky Haunted Mansion, stimulating Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, and timeless Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. My friends and I enjoyed some hilarious jokes at the Monster's, Inc. Laugh Floor. We
It was a normal day, I went over to the corner store to get my meals for the week. On the way over I stopped very often to talk to my neighbors and to help some of the older ones, when I got to the store i saw my brother Arnold. he was doing the same thing as me. After I talked to him and when he left I noticed something different about him, he seemed in much more of a hurry than usual and I also saw that he was carrying a magnum which usually the most protection that he would carry was a hunting knife. I didn't think much of it and continued my
I remember waking up from my nap. Airplane was jolting because of the turbulence. My head was aching by the pressure caused by high altitude. Suddenly the belt lights went on. Pilot started his speech. He told us we were 10-15 minutes away from landing in New York JFK Airport. I checked my watch. It was still in my country’s timezone. I asked the person that sat next to me for the time. He casually showed me his wrist watch and asked me where I was from. He was a short but bulky man with a thick accent that I didn't know where it was from. I told him I was an exchange student coming from Turkey. We had a pleasant chat with him for that last 20 minutes of our flight. Upon leaving the aircraft, I saw another Turkish exchange student which was also a friend of mine. She was very pleased to see me. She told me about the person that sat next to her in the plane and how loud he snored. After waiting for all the other exchange students, our chaperon led the way to baggage claim. Our chaperon traveled with us from Turkey. He was also with us during our training and exchange student camps. Very sarcastic but also very like-able guy. He helped us get through every rough moment in our camps and training. And now he was with us during our final moments. After claiming every baggage of every student, we moved to a corner that was unoccupied. We hugged each other goodbyes, and shook hands. It was a weird feeling that I had at that moment. Looking back, I didn’t
