"Some infinities are bigger than other infinities " is a well known quote from The fault in our stars by John green . The fault in our stats was a book to movie adaptation in 2014. This book is a New York best time seller. When fans of the book heard that it was becoming a movie there was excitement . Over all there were only a few differences and many similarities. It is important you read this to know the differences between the two , these are important to know witch you like better the book or the movie. To understand the differences and similarities in The fault in our stars film, it is nessary to take a closer look at the books plot and characters and see what wasn't included. By comparing The fault in our stars film to the book it becomes clear that, scenes were added and left out but many new things were introduced. One difference that is in the book that was left out was that Hazel has a friend . Her friends name is kaitlyn . In the book she meets up with her to go shopping in the book it states "At 3:22 precisely I noticed kaitlyn striding confidently past …show more content…
One difference is in the characters dialogue, Hazel has more conversations with her mom, in the film she doesn't have as much in the book. Secondly a scene that was left out was when Hazel is at the mall after she met up with Kaitlyn. A little girl walks up to her and asks her about her cannula and what it's used for . " I was just about to end when this little girl with barrettes braids appeared in front and said 'what's in your nose'" (green pg46) . After Hazel explains that it helps her breath . Besides the differences there are a few more great similarities. A excample is how the plot is so similar in little and big ways to part when they meet to the part when Isaac gets to egg Monica's car at her house . They could have left out many little things but they decided to keep many things
Some similarities are, one, the characters are the same. Winnie foster,in the movie and the book still kept her same name, her feelings about wanting to leave. In the book on page 13 it says , “Winnie Foster sat on the bristly grass just outside the fence” showing that her name is the same. Another similarity is, Mae Tuck hits the man in the yellow over the head with the rifle. In the movie it shows Mae Tuck hitting the man in the yellow suit
When we saw the movie and the book and saw the movie, there were a couple of thing that they did not mention or did in the movie. In the movie they cut out some thing from the book. They did not really put everything they said in the book into the movie. They also did not really get some people personal feature. Here are something that were different from the movie, than what it said from the book.
The biggest similarity between the book, and the movie is the theme. The theme in both the book, and the
The movie and book have a few similar qualities. One similarity is they both tell/show that Dallas (dally) gets shot down by the police. After Dally robs a store the police shoot him. Another similarity is the little kid bites Pony. When Pony is helping save the little kids from inside the burning church, one kid bites Ponyboy’s finger. With as much as we know the similarities lets move on to the differences.
Differences (stick with at least four)- Ponyboy has a good relationship with sodapop and gets along better with darry but still has a very good relationship with his brother. In the beginning of the book, Pony gets jumped by some Socs, but he doesn’t get cut with a knife. In the movie, they cut him. In the movie when ponyboy is talking to cherry he says how the sun on the south side and she says”good how bout the north.” In the book it's written west and east. Also in the movie johnny never got his first beating from the soc in the book he does. In the book it gave more detail and information in the movie it starts like in mid way of the book.
What are these differences? Let's find out First up is the similarities. The first similarity is that all the characters are exactly the same in the book and the movie. Darry is still older than Pony and works all the time, Soda is still the middleman in a war between Darry and Ponyboy, Pony is still the youngest and hates Dally most of the time, Dallas is still a punk, etc. The next similarity is that all major plot points are still
Both the novel and the film share indistinguishable qualities. For example,They both have the same places as the novel. There were the DX,Tasty Freeze, the lot,the church, and the characters houses.Since they had the same places the same things happened. They have the same places so,they have the same scenes. However, they seem identical, they have a lot of differences.
Here are some differences with the characters. Meg one of the main character's in the book has glasses and braces, but in the movie she doesn't have braces or glasses. Another main character is Charles-Walace and in the book he is five, doesn't go to school, and can't read, but in the movie he is six go's to school, and can read well. These are the differences
The 3 major differences that were seen are the shattering of the conch, the pilot’s presence, and Ralph’s attitude towards Piggy. Due to these major differences the novel left a greater impact on its readers than the movie on its viewers. Seeing the movie and as well reading the book, personally the book was a better. The book has a very different approach of that showed these 3 major differences to their full extent. Out of the two though, I would choose the book as more pleasant and
For instance, in the book Joppy knew Albright; Albright knew Todd Carter; Todd Carter knew Richard McGee as well as Matthew Terrell whereas in the movie every character denied knowing each other except Albright and Joppy. Another noticeable difference is that in the book Frank Green, Daphne’s brother ends up murdered and in the movie he lives and they both end up moving. The third noticeable difference is a character name change from the book to the movie; Matthew Teran in the book is Matthew Terrell in the movie and he ends up being murdered in the book whereas at the end of the movie he’s running for mayor. A fourth noticeable difference is the pier scene. In the book Albright and Easy meet at the Santa Monica pier and in the movie it is the Malibu pier. And the last most noticeable difference between the book and the movie is that Mouse knows Daphne Monet or shall we call her by her real name Ruby Hanks; however, in the movie the audience never finds that out. In the movie the only true thing you get to know about Daphne is that she is both black and white. Therefore, due to the many differences between the book and the movie it is confusing to the audience since it is almost like dealing with two different stories because of the plot inconsistencies.
The movie and the story are similar and different. The first similarity is they both take place on Venus. Another similarity is the sun only came out for an hour. The differences were they had more detail about the sun lamps. They also had sun kits. The last on is in the book they said that it has been raining for 7 years, and in the movie it says it was 9 years. These are 5 ways they were alike and
Both share the same plot, and there are very little differences between the two. These are a few of the differences that I was able to notice between the book and the movie. There are several others throughout the story, but they are all just as minute and in the end they have no effect on the outcome of the story. Overall, I was very impressed with the movie and it was very true to the book. I have seen my share of movies that were adaptations from books that did not do the book justice, but this one is almost exactly like the book, so it was very
