He is an athletic medium build male with long blonde hair but though he is considered a sweetheart, he is a grumpy drunk. I chose Haymitch to describe character because he plays an important role in the movie as the coach, but he is neither the main protagonist or the antagonist.

I share similar characteristics to The Hunger Games novel and movie character, Katniss Everdeen. We are very similar because we both put ourselves out there and try new things. Katniss volunteers herself, therefore, putting herself out there for everyone to see. I also do this whenever I dance or have a role in a musical. I put myself on the stage for all to see. I also feel like we are similar in ways of bravery. Although I do not have to face death multiple times, I do in fact stay calm when I have to perform.
Katniss Everdeen is strong, brave, protective, and responsible. In the Hunger Games, Katniss in the main provider for her family. In hunger stricken District 12, Katniss hunts, which is against the law, to provide food for her family. Katniss even volunteered to take her sister's place in the hunger games.
When The Hunger Games trilogy written by Suzanne Collins came out in 2008, the popularity of dystopian novels rose, causing a plethora of similar novels to be written. The dystopian genre in the twenty-first century generally has a strong and masculine teenage female heroine who faces the daunting task of saving their cruel and messed up world. In The Hunger Games, the protagonist is Katniss Everdeen who chooses to take her younger sister, Primrose Everdeen’s, place in the Hunger Games, an annual event where a young female and male are chosen from each district to battle each other to the death as a sadistic form of entertainment for the Capitol. The Capitol is where the influential and wealthy citizens live, lavishing themselves with outrageous makeup and clothing. It also represents the tyrannical and controlling government responsible for this act of savagery. Katniss also struggles between two possible love interests: Gale, her childhood friend, and Peeta, her partner in the Hunger Games. The popularity of this trilogy caused many other imitations to arise, struggling to claim some popularity for themselves.
