De Bono’s book of Six Thinking Hats (1999) is a well defined book on the framework that can change the direction of team meetings. It allows all participant to share their views with parallel thinking. It can assist a group of people in coming up with creativity without the egotistic that some people may have. The hats can be used one at a time or in sequence to solve a particular topic or ideas without arguments.
While learning that De Bono created the six thinking hats with the colors of white, red, black, yellow, green, and blue. Each color has its direction for the participants to share their modes of behaviors or attitudes about the topic in discussion. I like that the colors and the thought of a hat is an ice breaker as well as a structure

The book created an impact on me and will hopefully change the way I conduct my behavior or attitude, when in discussion with my peers at work. As I have learned that each person’s perception may be right as each person is looking at the subject matter differently.
De Bono idea of addressing the use of color hats provide a visualize reminder to identify the topic as actual symbol is another way I learned best. So my overall understanding are that following hats mean as indicated: White Hat- FACTS- is the collecting and gathering of factual information about the topic. As in what information other is available? While thinking of the topic matter, what other information is out there, it does this with discipline and direction. However, it does not offer interpretation or opinions. It remains neutral. Red Hat - FEELINGS- associated with feelings, which may also be a hunch, intuitions and emotions without having to justify them in any way to others. Thinking about thinking and what else is needed by gathering everyone’s feelings about

Remembering is when the memory uses their white hat of information of knowledge as well as recalling the fact of what was previously learned which is through the red had, the process of thinking. As applying the person’s feelings at that particular time that a person fells during that particular subject in discussion at the given time a person thinks of the knowledge they have gained. Then there has to be an understanding of the various role each hat represents and the benefits of the yellow hat. Then the blue hat is analyzing the process by filling in any gaps because everyone has a chance to share their knowledge. If there are any struggles, you revert to the green hat for additional creativity. As the groups go onto the black hat of making judgements and criticizing the idea of what can go wrong, while gaining the benefits of the yellow hat. Finally the green hat of creativity as the elements are all put
I’m someone who at least tries to be self-aware and mindful of others in my daily life. Mindfulness is something I first learned about as a tool in therapy, but it’s something that has stuck with me in other aspects as well. I think that it has helped me to be more aware of how I communicate with others, I do my best to give others the benefit of the doubt, view without judgement, and understand that perspectives can vary greatly. I understand that the intent of someone’s words may not always match up with the desired effect of their words, which is something the book touches on repeatedly. Messages being misconstrued, words meaning different things to different people, timing, pitch, intonation, all of these things can change the way a situation or conversation is viewed by different people, and it leaves a lot of room for error when
Hats are a wonderful thing that can show individuality and how different everyone is because this one person is just your average person who respects that classics and wears a normal ballcap.or someone a little more spontaneous who wears an unusual hat or even someone who likes joking around may wear a light bulb hat and by showing bits of yourself through hats you could make new friends and receive compliments on your hat and that could boost your self esteem and you will feel better about yourself and we could learn to see foreign hats and traditions as common and slowly grow to accept them and eventually call them friends and learn to love and make peace all through the power of hats and I think that is amazing

A “bob” hat advertisement similar to this one would be a familiar sight to many women during the 1920s. During this time period, the bob hat or cloche became a classic. The cloche was bell shaped at the top and had decorative additions such as feathers, geometric shapes, and flowers, which would showcase a woman’s demeanor. As said on vintagedancer.com, there were other accessories that women wore on their heads such as wrapped turbans, short crown straw hats, and an array of different headbands. These hair accessories became popular during the 1920s because of the way it worked with new hairstyles such as the bob. A cloche’s structure would frame the face of the women who wore them. In many cases women would not leave a store without ensuring
Students will make their own hat shaped collage using different materials. They will make their own hat, like Jennie’s in the book, using the technique Ezra Jack Keats used in his illustrations in his books.
Reading this book will certainly affect people’s life. The Other Wes Moore is influential and it gives impacts to the readers. Not only
Cloche Hats. To show the short hair (a close fitting cloche is the only chose for hair that was short and flat.)—affected the body posture (“it was pulled well over the eyes which meant young women held their heads at a specific angle in order to see where they were going.”)
In the late 16th century when beaver hats became a fashion statement, establishments were created to exclusively deal in furs. Serving as emblems of social status and prestige for centuries, hats were worn to identify individuals by military statuses, social rank and position, political affiliations, professions, and religious following. Regarding the Catholic religion itself, the shape, style, and material of one’s hat was a visual indication of
One of the symbols shown is from the story Eleven by Sandra Cisneros, the author uses are the red sweater that the teacher gives the girl. The teacher found a red sweater in her classroom closet, and when nobody claimed it as theirs, one of the protagonists classmates shouted that it was hers, and she didn't have the chance to stick up for herself to prevent the humiliation she received. She was mainly bothered by this because it was her eleventh birthday and she wanted it to be special, but the red sweater was making her oblivious to the positive parts of her day, as she was focused on not so much the sweater, but how she was not able to defend herself and how her teacher influenced the situation by not acknowledging anything she had to say. Majority of the story the character is coming up with insults for the red sweater like how she says, “In my head I’m thinking how long till lunchtime, how long till I can take the red sweater and throw it over the school yard fence, or even leave it hanging on a parking meter.” This quote shows the time of coming of age in the main character's life when her humiliation is conflicting her views on

This fable was a great way to promote the importance of a team and its functions. This book had many highlights throughout the context and I would highly recommend it to leaders of a corporation or of that of a team like setting. This book offered many great implications of the model and how to use it in many diverse settings when trying to build and manage successful teams.
First of all, this book is similar to some things I'm learning in social psychology. It wasn't any suprise to me when I
“We’re drawn to the image of the lone genius whose mystical moment of insight changes the world. But the lone genius is a myth; instead, it’s group genius that generates breakthrough innovation. When we collaborate, creativity unfolds across people; the sparks fly faster, and the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.”
The first thing that hat symbolizes is that it helps the bureau agent to get into the alternate world. The agent must wear the hat in order to navigate through the labyrinth (the alternate world). Without having the hat on, the agents are not able to go through the alternate world. It is the hat that limits the agent's power. The second thing that hat symbolizes is the time period. It makes them look different. Also, in dream hat symbolizes the change of attitude or direction.
