The actions made in the past can determine the course of your life. Even the choices that weren't your own. In the midst of the Dominican Republic Civil War, my mother was born in Santo Domingo right when it occurred. She born during the same place and time period where in between April to September 1965, military and civilian supporters of the former President, Juan Bosch, were trying to overthrow President Donald Reid Cabral and stop military dictatorship which created political chaos. In 1965, Francisco Alberto Caamaño Deñó led what was known as the Caamaño Revolt which was made famous by the violence that ensued in the streets of Santo Domingo, the Caamaño movement, that my grandparents from my father's side supported, aimed to restore
This project’s purpose is to record a people who have lived through the promises and outcomes of the Bolivarian Revolution, an idea that captured Venezuela’s spirit and spread across 16 Latin America nations as the Pink Tide. The poor and working class will be a fundamental component of this story as I investigate the role the revolution has played in shaping the lives of this perpetually overlooked group of people. Simultaneously, the nature of these issues will create a portal into the world of Venezuelan heritage, traditions, and political and civic culture. What I write will be the reality of the situation; the interpretation will be left up to the reader.
I believe that our actions and thoughts can and can not influence our future. We also can shape the things that happen to us and we are responsible for our own actions. In the biography, “Without A Map” by Meredith Hall, it tells a story about a young girl who grew up bonded to her insular New Hampshire community and comforted by the hallmarks of belonging. She had perfect attendance in Sunday school, classmates who seemed more like cousins, teachers who held her up as a model student, and a mother who loved her unconditionally. Then at sixteen, she became pregnant, and all at once those who had held her close and kept her safe turned their backs on her. The same day that Meredith was expelled from school, her mother told her “You can’t stay
To what degree can an individual’s choices and actions influence the direction of his or her life?

As the grip of imperial rule in Latin America loosened and then disappeared completely, the people of the former colonies began to search for leaders that embodied their newfound freedom and beginnings. Thus, the people turned to caudillos. Caudillos were military men who participated in the fights for independence, which made them famous among the common people. They tended to be authoritative, charismatic, and had ideal masculine characteristics. These qualities made them popular with the people, and along with their high ranking in the military and elite class, it quickly became possible for caudillos to become rulers of the countries of Latin America.
It was July 25th, 2003 when the first Ciudadana was born, seven pounds three ounces at 3:28 pm. I was the joy of my parent’s, brother, tias, tios , and primos ( aunt’s, uncle’s, and couisins. It was in that room where history was made for the Mora Hernandez Morales Martinez family. The hardest part is that none of my grandmothers were there to see me growing up, they were at “home”
Every day, I question my choices and regret my action. However, one cannot repeat his actions. There are actions that I would repeat, and there are actions that I would pray that everyone would forget. This leads to my conclusion that everything happens for a reason. There are actions that one thinks is good but will regret it later. There are also actions that one may initially regret but will turn out well later. In the case of Leo Schenker, his actions defined his fate during the Holocaust.
The Mexican Revolution began as a movement of the middle class protesting against the long-standing dictatorship of Porfirio Diaz. Diaz was an army officer who had came to power after a coup against former president Benito Juárez. Unlike Juárez, Diaz established a stable political system, in which the Constitution of 1857 was bypassed, local political bosses (caciques) controlled elections, political opposition, and public order, while a handful of powerful families and their clients monopolized economic and political power in the provinces.

Díaz, afraid of losing his presidency, rigged the election and had Madero arrested. After his release, he fled to the United States and planned a revolt for November 20th, 1910. While this revolt did fail, it inspired many people who were tired of being dictated to join in a revolution.
The Cabans revolt happened due to the religious issues such as governmental concessions to the Protestants and anti-seigniorial detestation in Aix, Manosque, Sisteron, Valensole, Arles, and Marseilles. In Provence, the majority of the country gentry remained Catholic, but Protestants dominated in towns such as Montauban, Nîmes, Montpellier, and Castres, in the Cevennes, the Pyrenees, and Dauphiné. Consequently, many Huguenots were murdered on the charges of conspiracy against their towns and the whole province became the ground of infamous forces of the Porcellets. The Catholic peasants, known as the Cabans , who had most to suffer amid this chaos, rose in turn and made a relentless war on all upper classes of society, both the Huguenots
