“Over the past century, the burning of fossil fuels and other human and natural activities has released enormous amounts of heat trapped gases into the atmosphere. These emissions have caused the Earth's surface temperature to rise, and the oceans absorb about 80 percent of this additional heat .”(National Geographic, 1). Climate change is happening because of humans doing things such as eating the wrong food, . In the United States, climate change has been an important topic, rising temperature and sea level storms, early snowmelt, and long seasons. It has caused problems with the coral reefs, fossil fuels, the methane produced by cows, sea level rise and more. Climate change is caused by man because the way people are living are affecting the environment. Sea level rise is a huge problem in todays climate change. Sea level rise is affecting many places around the world. The glaciers and ice sheets are melting. But why are they melting? Glaciers and ice sheets are melting because the temperature of the earth is rising. Thermal expansion has occurred with the heat that is happening in the ocean. In the article, “Sea Level Rise caused by Climate Change and Its Implications for Society” by Nobuo mimura states, “ Particularly, countries which are located in low-lying areas as well as small islands are concerned that their land areas would be decreased due to inundation and coastal erosion and, at worst, a large proportion of their population may be forced to migrate to
Page analysis essay Have you ever been in a bad place in your life, and been able to find happiness in the smallest of things? Thinking there’s no light at the end of the tunnel, is a frightening feeling that pushes back many. Therefore, finding someone/something that generates even a small amount of happiness in that time, will allow you to continue the tunnel until you’ll encounter light. Holden Caulfield, the main character of the novel The Catcher in the Rye, experienced this situation of finding hope in the hardest time period of his life. He gets his moment of happiness by seeing his little sister, Phoebe, riding a carousel, which expresses Phoebe’s innocence.
Just as some people may emphasize diversification in their stock portfolio, I highly value the role that diversity plays in my education, social life, and career aspirations. Throughout my educational experiences I have come to realize that I have varied interests in both the fields of, engineering and business. My interest in these two very different disciplines has allowed me to participate in activities involving technical knowledge, communication skills, and creative thinking. Through various extracurricular activities I have combined my business based aspirations with my technical engineering knowledge to interact with my local community and make a positive impact on the lives of young children.
Climate change is one of the utmost damaging problem to humanity by the reason that it affects everyone who lives on Earth. Though there are social problems, such as war or racism, that may affect certain groups of people, even those with no human contact are affected by climate change in some way.
The two main factors of climate change are humans and natural causes. It is believed that humans are a huge major cause of climate change because we use energy by driving cars, heating and cooling our houses and cooking food. Humans get their energy from burning coal, oil and gas, which release different types of gases into our atmosphere and this causes the air temperature to rise. This does not only change the climate of one place, it changes the Earth’s global climate. Even though a major cause of climate change is human, we are not the only cause. Scientists have studied volcanic eruptions which have serious consequences for our planet. Volcanic eruptions cause molten rock, or lava, to release and form new rock on the Earth’s surface. But the eruptions also impact the atmosphere by changing the global climate. During a volcanic eruption, different types of gases and dust particles are released and are shot out into the atmosphere. Those particles cool the planet by blocking entering sunlight, referred to as the cooling effect (UCAR 1). Scientists have also studied noticeable environmental changes that affect our climate. Examples are rising sea levels due to glaciers melting and shrinking along with ice on rivers and lakes melting and breaking. Scientists also believe that temperatures will continue to rise due to greenhouse gases produced by human activities. Greenhouse gases will cause higher temperatures year round, a longer frost-free season, changes in precipitation
Climate change in today’s world has become of great concern due to its effects in the environment. Globally, climate change has greatly influenced ecosystems and the existence of organisms. This is further extending its effects to regional areas such as Kenya, whose ecosystem is not spared by the changing climate. Despite having natural causes, anthropogenic factors are widely increasing and causing climate change undisputed. Therefore, human activities are the main contributors of climate change leading to stress and ecosystem strain, to continue providing for its services. In this report I discuss summary of global climate change and regional focus on causes of climate change in Kenya, its effects in ecosystem especially on the natural ecosystems, current measures to curb the effects and the perception of the future ecosystem of the country.
Temperatures are rising, storms are crashing down in our homes, and illnesses are affecting everyone all around us. Imagine these threatening matters approaching our life in the nearby future. The causes of these matters are due to global warming. Global warming occurs through the continuing increase in temperature of the Earth’s atmosphere due to the trigger of high levels of carbon dioxide and other pollutants. Global warming is strongly associated with the greenhouse effect and the gases. Other examples include the effects of what global warming does, which vary. A few common issues are floods and droughts caused by an increase in temperature. Global warming remains slowly damaging our planet in ways that can be potentially fatal to all living organisms in it.
Through researching various topics, it is clear that human interaction with the earth is the main cause of global warming. Global warming is a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth's atmosphere, generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and other pollutants (Google Search). Though there are many natural contributions to global warming, it can be mainly attributed to industrialization, deforestation, and aerosol usage by humans.
Global climate change has been a natural and frequent phenomenon since the beginning of life on Earth. However, the central debate concerning climate change is whether or not it is driven by human interaction with the environment’s resources. Carl Sagan said, “extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence” (Baum, Haqq-Misra, & Karmosky, 2012). Claiming humans are causing global climate change as a result of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions is definitely extraordinary, but modern research by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and independent research facilities have provided substantial evidence.
Climate change is definitely not an uncommon idea in today’s society, in fact, it seems to be at the center of many discussions: who believes in global warming, who does not, and why is climate change happening? Some people strongly believe that humans are the cause of climate change with all of the methane, carbon dioxide, and other greenhouse gasses that are released because of the way humans carry out their day to day lives, but others believe it is occurring naturally from different cycles on the Earth. However, it is anthropogenic action that is the catalyst for these positive feedback loops occurring from the Earth’s cycles that are continually causing more carbon dioxide to be released into the atmosphere.
Hi! My name is Aliyah. Did you feel any changes in the climate during the past few years? Have you notice how hot it was last September? This is happening due to climate change. Today i will elaborate on the causes, the effects and how we can help. Climate change is the change in weather patterns which can last for extended period of time, even millions of years. Climate change affects the greenhouse effect. Without greenhouse gases, the temperature on Earth would be too cold to support life. With too much, it would heat up beyond survivable levels.
Global warming, the rise of average global temperatures year, after year. A serious issue yet many people fail to pay much attention to it, or even realize how much of a problem it is. Some people think it’s a hoax from lack of proof, but some scientist would argue otherwise. Human activity such as burning fossil fuels is the main contributor to global warming, as it releases large amounts of C02 into the atmosphere (May). With deforestation happening every day less, and less trees are available to absorb the C02 released into the air. The average temperatures within the US have been rising. This creates droughts, evaporation of lakes, major storms, and devastating floods (May). To combat global warming it is important to support the development of clean renewable energy, such as solar power. Not only is solar a free source of energy, it is clean in that it doesn’t emit C02, and it creates thousands of well-paying jobs. Global warming is caused by human activity, and has large devastating effects on our environment, to sustain a growing human population we must seek alternative energy such as solar power.
Temperatures are rising and we need to help. Global Warming is a problem that is affecting our globe dramatically and is often thought of as a joke to skeptical people. Global warming was first discovered about 60 years ago and has become a very heated topic in modern society for environmentalist. Global warming has many causing factors, but a main one is the production of gases such as carbon dioxide from cars and factories. Global warming is melting ice caps, causing temperatures to rise, and causing droughts and floods.
First, to be able to fully understand how climate change works, one must comprehend how climate change can occur. Climate changes because it reacts to whatever forces it to change at the time. So that means that currently, our climate is being forced to becoming warmer because of the chemicals being put into its atmosphere. The burning of fossil fuels put hazardous gases such as carbon dioxide and methane into our atmosphere. These gases can also be classified as greenhouse gases, greenhouse gases are fumes that can trap heat in our atmosphere, thereby raising the temperature of our atmosphere. Many people don’t see a rise in temperature a bad thing, but the warmer and more acidic our climate gets the more habitats being destroyed and glaciers being melted. Before of the mass production of fossil fuels began, greenhouse gases had no real effect on life, but recently has proposed a series problem to all life on earth. The big name
Climate change is a change in the atmospheric layers of Earth that is caused by the increase of carbon dioxide levels concentrated in the atmosphere. This change is impacting Earth and will continue to do so if nothing is going to be done to reduce its effects. Climate change is the main cause of many natural disasters that happened in the past and are still happening today such as Hurricane Irma which is considered to be the strongest hurricane to ever hit the United States after Hurricane Katrina as mentioned in the article “Florida Smashed by Strongest Hurricane Since Katrina” by Eric Holthaus and Daniel Mcking. The question derives from these events, are human activities causing climate change? Many scientists and studies do believe so. I agree that climate change is caused by human activities, a point that needs emphasizing since so many people still believe that humans do not contribute to climate change.
Global warming has been a topic all around the world since 1904. This debate has scientists wondering who is the cause of climate change . I think that humans are the cause of climate change. Rising level of human-produced gases released into atmosphere create a greenhouse gases affect trap heat and cause global warming. Dramatic change in precipitation, heavier storms and less snow both are signs global climate change. Temperature on earth has rapidly increased farther than can be explained than by natural climate change. The type of CO2 increasing in earth's atmosphere can be connected to human activity?
