“Over the past century, the burning of fossil fuels and other human and natural activities has released enormous amounts of heat trapped gases into the atmosphere. These emissions have caused the Earth's surface temperature to rise, and the oceans absorb about 80 percent of this additional heat .”(National Geographic, 1). Climate change is happening because of humans doing things such as eating the wrong food, . In the United States, climate change has been an important topic, rising temperature and sea level storms, early snowmelt, and long seasons. It has caused problems with the coral reefs, fossil fuels, the methane produced by cows, sea level rise and more. Climate change is caused by man because the way people are living are affecting the environment. Sea level rise is a huge problem in todays climate change. Sea level rise is affecting many places around the world. The glaciers and ice sheets are melting. But why are they melting? Glaciers and ice sheets are melting because the temperature of the earth is rising. Thermal expansion has occurred with the heat that is happening in the ocean.
