There are a million characters in the world all unique in their own way because of their personality traits which come from individual experiences growing up. Character traits are all different; they could be angry, talented, naive, kind, selfish, but people are rarely just one of those things. Most everyone is a combination of these traits, a little bit of some things and a lot of others join together to make up a full personality. The character of Risa in Unwind by Neal Shusterman is a perfect example of a person who is a combination of several different traits. She is a perfectionist. She needs everything to go perfectly or she’s not happy, and yet nothing in Risa’s life has been perfect. Perhaps due to the fact that Risa has spent her entire
In life, people are not always who they appear to be. Today, a lot of people act like someone their not, to be “cool” or perfect. We see this demonstrated in both “Raymond’s Run” by Toni Cade Bambara and “Tied to Zelda” by David Rice. In “Raymond’s Run,” the fictional character Squeaky sees a common problem. All the girls never really smile. They’re too busy being someone their not. In “Tied to Zelda,” Alfonso does not like to be around Zelda because of her “rough and tough” self. In the end, he sees the truth about Zelda’s personality and becomes her friend. These stories are very different, however, if you look closely you will see a common theme. The author teaches us that one can be someone on the outside, but a whole nother person
A person’s personality defines who they truly are, this also applies to characters in literature, except it is called characteristics rather than personality. The characters in Ray Bradbury’s famous novel, Fahrenheit 451, define who they are by being compared and contrasted. The most appealing comparisons would be Guy Montag and Captain Beatty. Guy Montag is a very caring fireman who is interested in learning about new things; besides being the supervisor of the firemen, the main purpose of Captain Beatty is representing the other firemen and a little bit of the government, but he is more knowledgeable compared to the others. Readers often view Beatty as the antagonist of the novel and Montag as the protagonist. At the beginning
Even when people do not realize it, everyone is always learning from other people. Characters in stories all have a variety of different personalities. One character from the stories desires to be daring and fearless, while the other character is both both of those qualities. Since one character desires to be something that he is not, he puts his imagination to the test and makes his own perfect scenarios.
In the novel The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, the author includes a description of the character’s thoughts that reveals Risa’s conflicting feelings about Connor, as she yet again contrasts her feelings and her thoughts. It includes Risa’s feelings and thoughts being fought against one another, and allows the author to show Risa struggling on how she truly sees Connor, and how she feels about Connor. Just prior to this description, Connor saves Risa from being sexually harassed by Roland. However, Risa is still resentful to Connor’s method of saving her, as she was hoping he would save her physically, rather than him choosing the more effective way, verbally. The description begins by Risa exclaiming that “Connor had done the right thing” (Shusterman
In many forms of entertainment that has a story to it, there are characters with complex and confusing personalities and traits. This is what gives movies, books, videos, and other forms of entertainment their base. These traits also cause people to become attached to a specific character or group of characters. These traits, personalities, and qualities of characters aren’t always thoroughly explained as to why a character is this way. A character is formed from their drive, emotions, and for the most part, their past experiences. Most characters aren’t created to be a certain way, rather they were made that way by things that have happened in their past, and how it affects them. There are many examples of this throughout
The story in Unwind by Neal Shusterman happened after the Second Civil War. During that time period, all the kids who between the ages of thirteen and eighteen, their parents can sign an unwind order for them. For those kids who unwound, their bodies are used as machines by another people. However, the kid’s life doesn't technically end. Connor, Risa and Lev are three main characters in the novel. All of them are unwound by their parents for some reasons. Connor is a sixteen-year-old boy and get kicked out by several schools. His parents signed the unwind order because they did not think that they would be able to control him anymore. Risa is a fifteen-year-old girl, and a very skilled piano player. However, she was unwound because the orphanage thought that she had already reached her full potential. Lev is thirteen-year-old boy; the youngest kid in his family. He was unwound because of the religious believe of his family. All of them believe that they might have a chance to escape and survive if they work as a team. These three characters play an important role in this novel.
Personalities and their traits varies from person to person. The uniqueness in a personality can have traits can array from adventurous and active to lazy and foolish. Squeaky’s personality in Raymond's Run by Toni Cade Bambara is displayed to have many different features and more than one side shown at many parts of the story. Squeaky’s nature has confidence in it which is transferred into her compassionate and competitive side towards her athletic hobby, running. She has self assurance that she is the best but acknowledges she can be defeated by her father.

Throughout the novel, we can see her personality get altered, and although some parts of her personality stay the same, pretty major parts of her personality change. This novel is also a great example of the twelve

Openness the experience implies strongly a person who is acquiring intellect. Individuals are high scorer in this trait when they are curious, broad interests, creative, imaginative, and untraditional. And they are low scorer when they are conventional, down-to-earth, narrow, interests, unartistic, unanalytical. Subira seems to be mostly interested in things that are relevant in her life and how it applies to her striving to be a successful actress one day. Some examples are the way she dresses differently at times. She loves going to Greenwich Village to observe people there. The observations that she makes give her more ideas from which to choose in order to better develop both her craft and her characters. I give Subira a high rating in attempting to fully develop her characters that she will be called upon one day in a performance.
She developed this trait because she never had a time of consistency growing up. This inconsistency continued into her personality. She can never stick with one thing, she is always constantly changing who she is. For example, she has never sticked to one religion, she was first a Catholic, then later became a Satanist, to a Buddhist, and now is an

Burton, western & Kowaslki (2015) describes Personality as the enduring patterns of thought, feeling, motivation and behaviour that are expressed in different circumstances. In other words it can be defined as differences in characteristics in a person, including their way of thinking, likes, dislikes, sociability, openness, feelings and behaviour, which make them the person they are and differentiates them from others. All these traits when brought together is known to be the personality of that particular person.
