William Wordsworth Poems&Romanticism Romanticism is a name ofa huge movementand changesand someexamples of the poets of that age are Samuel Taylor Coleridge, William Wordsworth and Percy Bysshe Shelley. Many of their poems were full of the characteristics that Romanticism carried. It is an age of change that happened in Europe and revived many beautiful characteristics that people didn't care about in the past. They talked about topics like art, religion and politics. Emotions, nature and imagination appeared in that time. Writers of that age were romantic in their work. They used most of the characteristics of Romanticism. It began at the end of 18th and the beginning of 19th century. It talks about many new things like emphasis and internalization in emotional topics like nature and imagination .The romanticism movement is an intellectual movement. It brings many important names in literature; poets with strong emotions and incredible talentlike Coleridge, Wordsworth and Shelley. The one who properly reflected the age of Romanticism in a good way between the poets was Wordsworth whom some people call him the father of that age. Wordsworth embodied the leading power of Romanticism and the classic elements of the romanticism movement can be found in Wordsworth's work. He has a strong emphasis on nature. Wordsworth's works and the Romanticism movement gave a huge place and importance to nature. He used nature and imagination in most of his works. Besides, his emotionswere in rural language, so it will be the best way to describe his feelings and it is more comfortable to the reader that the poet talks in a language that most people like. He wrote many poems like “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud”, "A Character" and "My Heart Leaps Up". His poem “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud” carries almost all characters from the romanticism period like emotions and imagination.
