Athena Athena is known as the Goddess of wisdom, courage, inspiration, civilization, law and justice, strategic warfare, mathematics, strength, strategy, the arts, crafts, and skill. Although she is known more specifically for her skill in warfare. She is usually portrayed as the companion of heroes and as the patron Goddess of heroic endeavour. Her birth was anything but normal, when Zeus got an enormous headache, Athena sprang out from his forehead, fully grown with armour. She has no confirmed mother, but lots of common stories say that Zeus laid with Metis, the goddess of craft and wisdom. Due to a prophecy that said his child would be more powerful than him, he swallowed Metis, thinking she wouldn’t give birth to any baby. Unfortunately for him, she had already conceived a baby. Athena was tall and thin, with bluish-green eyes. She wore a suit of armour and a golden helmet. Athena has many characteristics, but the most prevalent and well-known is her wiseness, kindness and creativeness. She created the plow and the rake, she made the first bridle and taught men how to tame horses with it. She also invented the flute, the chariot, the trumpet, and taught men how to count and use numbers. She was a great weaver, weaving many clothes with beautiful patterns with beautifully colored cloth. Athena was known to be very kind and generous, especially to those who were honest and brave.
