There are many essential elements of the Christian worldview. God is the largest element due to His place as the foundation of the power and influence. God created humanity and allowed for their fall. He positioned Jesus Christ to save humanity from itself, satisfy divine judgment, and to reconcile their relationship with God. This paper will explain how each component is essential to the Christian worldview and what impacts those beliefs have on my own worldview.
The Christian worldview revolves around God. In the textbook God is described as “unchanging, eternal, all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-present” (Hiles and Smith, 2014). He created the heavens, the earth, and all of the creatures that roam within it. The Trinity describes God as three different but equal persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Lecture 4, 2015). Each person within the Trinity has a specific purpose. God the Father is the beginning and he oversees everything. God the Son is fully God and fully human, he is the Father’s tool to spread his message and take care of His creation. God the Holy Spirit is who conveys the message of the Father. While God is a good, loving, faithful, and holy God, he is also just and He passes judgment “against all the godlessness and wickedness of people” (Rom. 1:18, NIV).
