The leadership role that I have found the most important is the one involving my church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am currently the Young Women’s Laurel President and have been for over a year now. This means that I mainly set an example for the other younger girls in my ward by participating in class, leading opening exercises, and keep the standards set by the church. I also volunteer a great deal of my time to plan and set up activities that happen every Wednesday night. When I was first asked to become the President, I was shocked as I felt I was not the finest person for the job, but being a leader has allowed me to grow in ways I could never have imagined. I have been forced to gain knowledge of the girls in my
I have many experiences with leadership experiences due to my participation in FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America). In FBLA I had to take a leadership role in a group project that we compete with. While I was the leader I influence others to get the project done and work together as a team. I made sure that we were all on track and that our assign tasks were being completed. When there was an issue I would try to help them and figure out what was happening. I would bring peace when there was arguments.
Leadership comes with great responsibility, I personally have never experience being a leader. However, I believe that I don’t need to be a leader to be successful, instead I am always willing to work hard with other people and achieve any goal as a whole(team). Although, I consider myself as a great problem solver, and also very responsible according to the effort I put in every little thing that I do. In the past, I have helped the leaders organize and help them to achieve a goal. I gave my hundred percent in anything I do.
A time I held a leadership position was this year for DECA. I was an involved member of DECA as a freshman, and I had been thinking of running for the vice president position as a sophomore. What really solidified my reservations was when the DECA teacher, Mrs. McGhee, asked me to run for an office. She told me that she noticed I was an invested member and that I would be a good asset to the board. I was so thankful she made this comment because that position in DECA was one of the things that really sparked my interest in leadership, and it helped me to learn more about how I lead. I was stressed at first because I was the first underclassman to ever be in a DECA officer position. When I showed up to the first officer meeting the next year,
An example of one of my leadership roles was on the first day of class. I was chosen to lead in a group communication. We were presented with an assignment on characteristics of group communication. The assignment involved factors and behavior that contributed to our group. We determined that communication was the most important factor. The skills the group had to establish were a common goal, working together in small groups, and synergy. See Chapter 1. Another example of a leadership role was on the discussion panel project. The project was very challenging and labor intensive. We learned how technology and computer-mediated technology effect communication. See Chapter 15.
Leadership is being able to guide other students into being the best they can be. I am a leader who is always positive and cheering others on to achieve their goals. At my school, I have a position as the Vice President of Academics in National Honors Society. Since I have obtained this position, I encourage other students in this group to participate in service projects which is where one volunteers to help out the community in some aspect. These volunteering opportunities are good thing to do because it builds character and it is always fun helping others out. As a leader, I bring new ideas to the table on where we should help out in the community and anything that we could do in school that would fun and helpful. Along with participating in National Honors Society at my school, I am also involved in our Student Government Association. Although I do not have a leadership position in this club, I still engage in the activities that we do. For the past two years, I have gone to an annual meeting for leadership where multiple schools attend. At this meeting there are fun activities where you learn more about leadership and how to be a good leader. As a leader, these meetings help because it is always good to learn new
One of the largest struggles for members in the church is animosity of non-members. On one hand, many express their dislike of the LDS church without even knowing what Sacrament Meeting is or the full the title of the “Mormon church” (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints). On the other hand, there are a number supposed experts about Mormon doctrine. Some have belonged to the Church themselves at one point, leaving after finding unresolved dissonance between their beliefs and the Gospel. Others are often learned scholars, criticizing the Mormon doctrine to prove their own views. The following paper involves the latter of the two in an analysis of Ezekiel 37:15-17, a Biblical scripture that the LDS Church believes to refer to The Book of Mormon.
My first leadership opportunity was to teach a cosmetology course at my high school. I focused on teaching the girls the aspects of cosmetology that they find appealing while still getting them to learn the less exciting aspects of the course. This allowed me to create a trip to the local senior center so that the girls could learn first hand how to do certain skills and to really perfect their abilities in a controlled environment. I currently teach cosmetology 15, 25 and 35.
The President of the Student Council. The drum major of the marching band. The founder of the biggest club at school. All of these positions involve organizing, interacting with, and motivating a large amount of people and just scream “LEADERSHIP!” However, this wasn’t the right kind of leadership for me; I’m not the type to get up and speak in front of a big group of people or give grandiose motivational speeches, but I still wanted to be helpful to others nonetheless.
Church of the Brethren does not accept abortion. Participating in abortion is not support their beliefs. Church of the Brethren is a denomination that was formed to continue their practices their own way. They started as a small group and to this day still recruit new members. They solely use the New Testament as their source of guidance for the practice they preach. Rational Choice theory explains Church of the Brethren 's position in opposing abortion.
Brigham Young was the second Prophet of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. He lived in the early to late 1800s. He was a leader, father, son, brother, friend, and a great Prophet. Brigham Young righteously led the mormons in the western movement to Salt Lake City Utah, and in the coming up of Salt Lake City, where they settled in order to have a better, and free life.
My devotion and orderly work ethics have allowed me to achieve this. I have participated in some academically challenging activities like The Spelling Bee, in which I came in 2nd place. I am usually in charge in group school projects. In my opinion, leadership is not only showing people what to do and how to do it, it is for me to be independent and not to rely on anyone to do everything for me. Leadership makes me make my own decisions and helps me be more independent than I already am.
Leadership is very important to our society and to myself. It gives us guidance on what to do and if the things we are doing are appropriate. Leadership is not only something everyone could use, but also needs. I believe I can demonstrate directionism while being involved in the National Junior Honor Society.
One past event I would say that the greatest experiences of my role in a leadership position came when I was in athletics in high school. This is where I learned that each individual needs to be led in a different way for them to reach their full
Generally, a leader will either be given a leadership role, or will create one. For instance, I frequently volunteer at a nature center in my community. Because I possess the leadership qualities mentioned earlier, I have become someone who people approach with questions and for direction. In effect, I have been assigned a leadership role which I had not been
The most challenging leadership role for me, was when I first started my position as a program activity leader at the Boys and Girls Club. As a program activity leader, I would be taking care, leading and teaching a group of 20 children afterschool. At the school I work at, children from all different types of needs would come. So, when I first started, it was hard to get the attention of all children, play games that all the children liked and teach bullying and health activities to all the children with their full attention. To solve all these problems, I had to figure out how to accommodate all the children so that they all had fun. Though it took time, I learned that the children did not like to play games where there was competition rather
