As we enter the post 9/11 era experts feel we are entering a new era in terrorism. New terrorism is terrorist activity committed by individuals or groups who may or may not be formally connected to a loose, cell based organizational structure, with religious motivations using asymmetrical tactics to achieve ideological goals often linked to promoting Islamic ideology. Recently in society a lot of individuals have considered Black Lives Matter a terrorist organization. Everyone have stated opinions on both Black Lives Matter and terrorism but don’t know the real meaning of neither subjects. Black Lives Matter is a chapter based national organization working for validity of Black life, and they work to rebuild the black liberation movement. Per the Federal Code of Regulations state terrorism is “the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of social or political objectives” (Terrorism as Organized Crime, 2015). So therefore, a terrorist organization is a political movement that use act of violence as a weapon to achieve personal goals; the act of terrorism is calculated use of violence against people to attain goals that are ideological, religious, and or criminal in nature.
