INTRODUCTION One of the most common health problems associated with the actual lifestyle is overweight. Obesity and overweight considered as one of the most troubling issues of the 21st-century public health (WHO, 2014) is a major risk factor in the development of many chronic diseases, such as respiratory and heart disease, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, cancers, as well as premature death. Treatment, recommended by a health professional, is based on a healthy diet with all the nutritional value required for each individual that depends on level of obesity and overall health, combined with the practice of physical activity that allows to burn toxins and fat (Mayo Clinic, 2015). But there is no doubt that genetics, lifestyle and environmental factors cause a big influence in the weight loss processes. On the other hand, in a society like ours, in which the corporal image and obsession to have a good body is in all advertising fields, to reach that image can end in serious health problems, putting in front the physical aspect than the health, using methods as the following of drastic weight loss diets. Popularly, the term "diet" is associated to lose weight, but this is totally wrong. "Diet" is the amount of food consumed daily by an organism. However, weight loss diet means the alteration or reduction of the nutrient intake or energy.
