My social science topic is about the communication behavior in long distance relationships. This paper will examine the behavior of how couples sustain their relationship being in long distance relationships and long distance relationships in military separation. Description: This article is about how people assume that it is challenging to maintain a close long distance relationship status. Researchers have searched that long distance relationships are just as equal than those relationships that are not because of the use of mediated communication. There is also more trust and satisfaction during separation. There are two studies shown in the article. The first study is discussed upon how long distance (LD) couples engage in more adaptive self-disclosures. The results for this first study show that LD couples connect more than geographically close (GC) couples by a proposal of behavioral adaptation. This implies that LD couples have more intimate interaction with one another because the couples are making more effort to make their relationship work. The second study discusses a process in which LD couples form a more fantasy like or idealized relationship perception than geographically close
