Karl Marx was an individual that was born in 1818 to a prosperous middle-class family. He is most noted for his 1848 publication called The Communist Manifesto, which was a short treatise written by himself and his friend Friedrich Engels. Initially, The Communist Manifesto was only known by a few individuals to have been written. However, this work became one of the most popular and influential works of all time. Marx’s ideas were a blend of French and German thought. One of Marx’s ideas that were written in The Communist Manifesto, was that the industrial middle class and its allies were defended by the government.
