Love is a powerful force that bonds people together through anything and everything. Love will make people do anything for the ones they love and sometimes can’t see the bigger picture. In Shakespeare’s tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, two young lovers in “fair Verona” from rival families come together in love. They instantly fall in love as soon as they lay eyes on each other and have to marry each other after only knowing each other for twelve hours. Romeo and Juliet have no idea what is to come due to their actions. Young love often results in a selfish isolation from the rest of the world which causes impulsive decisions that bring unintended consequences.
In Romeo and Juliet, adversity plays a large role in keeping the two star-crossed lovers apart, and after a short taboo romance, it is evident that their story ends in tragedy. The feud between their two families, both fate and destiny, encouragement from non-family members, and the deaths of the young couple, ultimately make this love story a tragedy.
Love can be defined in many contrasting ways. Some say love is an action and the others say it is just an emotion or feeling. Then there are the ones that say that love can be shown in order, loyalty, and morality. These three things are shown through the story of Barn Burning.
Star-crossed lovers are partners whose love lives are destined to fail due to fate. In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, it is said that two star-crossed lovers are initially unable to be together since their families have an ancient, long-term feud. However, Romeo and Juliet attempt to bypass this because of their strong and intense love for each other. By the end of the play, Romeo and Juliet have committed suicide. All teenagers have stupid ideas, especially in the play The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. In the play, two star crossed lovers meet, but there is a long standing family feud between the two. Romeo and Juliet eventually meet and fall in love despite the families hating each other. Time and again, history has created a star-crossed couple that overcomes all obstacles through the strength of love. Whether it is from Pyramus and Thisbe, Romeo and Juliet, or Jack and Rose, the only possibility to separate the couple is the death of one or both individuals. Love is defined in these relationships as fighting against all odds, class, society, and even family, in order to be with their loved one. While these stories may be fictional, history has presented a real case of star-crossed “lovers”, Peter Abelard and Heloise. This couple went to little length to fight society in trying to establish a relationship with one another. Although considered a love story to some, a relationship founded on lust, inability
“What’s meant to be will always find a way” (Trisha Yearwood). There is always a way to be with the person you love, Romeo and Juliet found that way. In the city of Verona there are two rival families, the Montagues and the Capulets. The children of each family end up meeting each other and falling in love. Over the course of the story the two make naive decisions so they can be together. In Romeo & Juliet, William Shakespeare uses character to reveal that adolescence can lead to making misguided decisions.

The love story that is the basis of almost every love story today is just two teenagers being stupid and making bad decisions. These two crazy love birds spend almost no time together; their total time on stage together is mere minutes. The rest of the time the teens are just fantasizing about being with one another. Though Romeo and Juliet did not just make bad decisions in the presence of one another, most of their dumb ideas came from being apart. This love was a short and sweet one , but it ended in the biggest shock of the time and it still shocks generations long after.
