Every year, thousands of minors die from the use of alcohol. Many young adults abuse the drinking age policy. It is put in effect for substantial reasons, which contribute in making the safest environment for all. Drinking underage is not only illegal, but also damages one’s health tremendously. Furthermore, drinking in large amounts is extremely dangerous and can cause detrimental things to occur. There have been numerous attempts to create a law to lower the drinking age, but none have gone through. In contrast to what some people may say, the drinking age should not be lowered because it would decrease maturity, promote poor behavior, and damage reputations.

Imperialism,-a more powerful country subjugating a weaker nation to it’s benefit, has been a part of human civilization for centuries, people take advantage of each other, its human nature.

At KHS, 71.6 percent (58/81) of KHS students have had at least one alcoholic beverage; according to The Center of Disease Control and Prevention one drink may lead to learning problems, adult alcoholism, and much more. Alcohol does not just impact one’s life right now, but it has lifelong effects. KHS health teacher, Gina Woodard, exemplified the risks of drinking underage: higher risk of sexual assault, higher risk of contracting an STI while under the influence, and harming family or friends (un)intentionally.

There has been a large amount of research regarding underage drinking and the long-term effect that it can have on a person’s body and their mental state. The public is often informed of phases and activities that underage students are partaking in that can be extremely harmful to themselves that they are not aware of. The study defines non-traditional CABs as Pre-Mixed Sodas or Energy Drinks with Liquor added and defined traditional CABs as Liquor with soda, coffee, or tea added by the beverage consumer.

The Day of the Dead is a unique Mexican holiday celebrated with many different customs and traditions throughout Mexico. This holiday focuses on the gathering of family and friends to pray for people close to them who have died and help them along on their spiritual journey. Every year, starting on October 31st, Mexican people begin their annual three-day celebration of The Day of the Dead or El Día de los Muertos. The holiday takes place over a course of three days, October 31st, November 1st, and November 2nd. Underage drinking among adolescents is becoming a problem in the nation 's youth. The legal drinking age was decided in 1984 for 21 years of age in every state (Wechsler and Nelson 986-992). Although there was a movement proposed to reduce the legal drinking age to 18 in 2008. The movement was proposed from college presidents and universities, which discussed their ideas of the drinking age. Later signing the Amethyst Initiative, leading encouraging debates back and forth trying to lower the legal drinking age.
