It does not surprise me that so many children and women make this trip from Central America to the United States. A reason why I agree that children and women should come to the U.S. is because of their living conditions back home. Their life back in their home forces them to seek a new life elsewhere. The people that come here only come here because the place where they grew up and where their children will grow up is filled with drugs, gangs, violence, and poverty. Adults grew up with barely enough food and water to survive and it is only natural for them to want something better for their children, so that their children do not have to suffer the same fate as they did. The economic conditions do not help with their financial situation either
Honduras, a Central American country, has the highest murder rate in the world, due to gangs. Gang members attempt to get children to join their gang to sell drugs. If the child refuses, they have 2 options: join the rival gang for protection, or be killed. Due to this evidence, you can’t blame them for trying to escape this dangerous life. Many of these minors are unaccompanied, and could be killed on their journey. They are simply trying to make a better life, and our government should be aiding them, not sending them back. Our great country was founded by immigrants trying to make a better life, so we should be helping others trying to do the same thing. If a child is fleeing danger in his home country and knocks on our door pleading for refuge, it is clear that we should open that door and do everything in our power to help, instead of turning him away to fend for himself.
Due to so much violence between the gangs it has led to people to get out of the country. Most of them were children. Seeking a safer environment, the parents send their kids to the United States. Some of the kids travel alone while others travel with a parent or relative. More than 70,000 children had come to the United States. The children were from Mexico, and from the Northern Triangle- Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. The majority of the children had come from the Northern Triangle, with about 74% of the children. These children are either trying to reconnect with a parent that left to the United States years ago or help a family in crushing poverty, as well as other reasons. Fifty-eight percent of 400 youths that were interviews had said they had been threatened, fear of serious harm, had suffered, by gangs. Most of the kids that had come from Mexico are taken back while for the others that are coming from the Northern Triangle are placed into a temporary shelter while their deportation proceeding are made. There was a law in 2008 (Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act) that allows the children from Central America to have a court hearing before they are in a position to stay or be deported. The come of many children has been controversial because which was built under the Bush administration to deal with 6,000 to 8,000 children not with 52,000. The shelters that are
As an owner of a factory in the 1800s, it is important for me to employ immigrant children in my work force. With the growth of factories in the 1800s, there is a higher demand which can get very expensive. . By having more workers, who are paid less in my work, I am able to create more materials. The creation of this material can help the economy move, by creating more for everyone to buy and sell. Not only does it benefit the economy, it can support the families of the workers. In many situations, the parents of the children may not have the capability to support the family financially. These families may need the help of these children to create a living, and live a comfortable life. The children working in this fast paced work space, also
The late 19th century brought a lot of new aspects to American life, but one of the most important was an huge influx of immigrants that came over to the U.S. These immigrants, specifically, had different backgrounds than that of those who had come in the past. This created tensions among the immigrant groups, but especially among the Americans who were not very welcoming. Overall, this period offered a sense of newness as immigrants struggled to fit in economically, socially, culturally, and politically.

Picture this: you are happily relaxing in your leathery armchair, until you hear the sound of a foghorn blasting in your eardrums! You peer out the window and glance around. In your peripheral vision you see something very strange; a giant steamboat! You can hear people yelling in delight, even all the way from your window! In the late 1800s, a new age of immigrants surged from Europe to the United States. Many came to escape from their countries. Some immigrants came from religious persecution. They came for money, jobs, and the hope for a new life. Because of an increase in population, new ideas, and cultural traditions in the late 1800s, immigrants transformed the United States forever.
In 1952, Immigration and Nationality Act started eliminating race as a requirement to immigration or citizenship. Japan's quota was 185 immigrants annually; China's stayed at 105; other Asian countries were given 100 each. Northern and Western Europe's quota was defined at 85% of all immigrants. However there were some restricts on British colonies' immigrants in order to avoid the tide of black West Indians entering under Britain's generous quota.
Employment is heavily documented as one of the driving causes of immigrant’s migration. However, immigrants from marginalized groups such as Asian American women are faced with unfair and non-sustainable living wages due to racial, gender, and native-born biases. Due to such biases, many Asian American women have been led to the notion of care and the profit it produces, due to it’s commercialization. Asian American women immigrants have utilized the commercialization of care, such as bodily and emotional care, to have the equal chance at fair waged work and the American dream. Therefore, the notion of care and its commercialization play an integral part of Asian Americans experience of labor migration.
Immigrating to America, no matter where you are coming from, has its fair share of trials and tribulations. Immigrants have to go through weeks of traveling to finally get to America and then completely rebuild their lives in this new country. While most immigrants went through similar experiences when migrating to America, , such as, traveling by sea, fighting illness, and enduring medical checkups upon arrival in Ellis Island, their ultimate reasons for leaving their home country varied, by economics, politics, or warfare.
I interview my father who arrive to the united states from Mexico The major problem that motive my father to migrate to the U.S.A were as he mention on pages (1-2) was an economically problem has he said since he was a child he grew up in a farm with his parents and brothers and sisters and had many struggles since the only one that work was his father. My grandfather did all he could to give him an education and a better life that he had that’s the same idea he view for me when he become a father he was young and money was like the priority to care for the necessary that a child has, but to get money you need to have a job. With salary he earned at my grandfather farm he knew was not enough to support himself and a child and he could
Mexican Migration to the United States has been a key movement for Mexicans living in Mexico. The standard of living in Mexico just does not meet the requirements needed to stay, and raise a family there. Mexicans are seeking better opportunities and doing what is best for their families to support them. They often feel that migrating to the United States is the answer to their problems that they are experiencing in Mexico. Truth to the matter is that they are not happy with their living conditions in Mexico. It seems to be that there is more negative present than any other factors and it’s not getting better. Through research on these general statements, I plan to find the main reasons why Mexico is not an ideal location for living and what really are the influences that bring Mexicans over to the United States. I will also analyze the social and economic impacts Mexicans have in the United States as well.
What if child immigrants were staying here for a reason, like wanting to get away from their family? But why would these children want to get away from their families? Well some children have said that they were feeling abuse from their parents including gang violence and drug use. Luckily these children were able to stay in the US since they probably were abandoned.
A black women by the name of Isabel Wilkerson, once stated some very influential words of wisdom to express her feelings toward the Great Migration. She stated,
Americans producers relied on consumers in other parts of the world, as capitalism developed as an enterprise. More developed countries drained resources and labor and power of less developed countries. Asian Americans were influenced to migrate to the U.S because their home countries were experiencing an economic decline. Asian Americans had very high hopes for life in America. When Asian’s first migrated to the U.S they were in poverty because they were not making the dollar they thought they would base on capitalism. Capitalism was encouraging immigration of cheap labor force from people from China, and other parts of Asia. China, Japan and Asia countries came to the
