Orion is a very cool constellation that has many interesting facts associated with it. For example, Orion is one of the most famous constellations in the sky. It is also one of the brightest constellations, making it very easy to spot. Orion takes up an area of approximately 594 square degrees, making it the 26th largest constellation. Orion can be spotted between the latitudes +85 degrees and -75 degrees. Its location is in NQ1, or the first quadrant of the northern hemisphere. This constellation also contains two of the ten brightest stars in the sky. These star’s names are Rigel and Betelgeuse. Rigel is the brighter of the two (and the 6th brightest star in the sky) with an apparent magnitude of 0.18. Betelgeuse is the second brightest star in Orion (and the 8th brightest star in the sky) with an apparent magnitude of 0.43. There are also many other stars in Orion. These stars include: Bellatrix, with an apparent magnitude of 0.43, Mintaka, with an apparent magnitude of 0.18, Alnilam, with an apparent magnitude of 1.68, Alnitak, with an apparent magnitude of 1.7, and Saiph with an apparent magnitude of 2.06. Orion’s bordering constellations are Monoceros, Gemini, Taurus, Lepus, and Eridanus.
