World War II one of the biggest wars, occurring between the years of 1939 through 1947 in which World War II was the cause of over 60 million deaths. A war between the Axis powers Germany, Italy, and Japan v.s. the Allies, France, Great Britain, the United States, the Soviet Union, and China. Coming close towards the end of the war United States and Japan are at war. The United States have taken over the war and Germany has surrendered, only Japan was left to surrender to completely end the war. Japan refuses to surrender and the Unites States grows with desperation to end the war. Truman is now in charge and is left with one of the President Franklin Roosevelt greatest secrets, The Manhattan Project. Which was the creation of the Atomic Bomb which led Truman to deal with it on his own. The United States had to plan out what their next move was going to be to take Japan. President Truman of the Unites States of America and his advisors thought of ways to take Japan, one being a land invasion a similar attack when the U.S. took Germany other keep bombing it and wait for Russian help. The Japanese invasion was likely to cost a half-million Allied and Japanese lives plus Soviet lives too, all in, what should have been the last months of the war. Such as in Document 1, which primarily compares the military strength of Japan with America’s and the possible military actions. America, then came to the conclusion that Japan would not surrender despite knowing the power of the American military and would possibly result in millions of casualties due to the war and had to find alternatives. This indicates that the Americans wanted to prevent the following harm to both their troops and American civilians. They believed that dropping the atomic bomb would devastate Japan and force them to surrender. In addition, the troops fought due to the Four Freedoms of Speech which was insisted by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in hopes of gaining freedom of fear.
