People often do the unimaginable in order to survive the dangers around them. To me, surviving is trying to stay alive by eating, drinking, and finding shelter. The fight or flight statement also means to survive because it is how we perceive harmful events. Some of these events can be an attack, or threat to survival. Surviving doesn't always have to be through harmful ways, you can also survive mentally. In other words, stay strong, have hope, believe you can, and have faith no matter how difficult it gets. Surviving skills can be inherited, such as the F or F, but people all over the world have inherited different ways to survive. There are multiple genres of survival. One good example is from the movie, “ The Good Lie.” In this movie
The aspect of survival I will be focusing on is the protagonists doing unimaginable things to keep themselves and their families alive. This occurs in all four of the texts that I have studied. The texts I studied were; the Berlin Boxing Club by Robert Sharenow, the Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell, the Hunger Games written by Suzanne Collins directed by Gary Ross and finally 127 Hours directed by Danny Boyle. The Berlin Boxing Club is an extended text on a Jewish family's hardships during the Nazi era. The Most Dangerous Game is a
“To live,” and “to be living,” are two very different ideas. Everyone is living, everyone breathes air, drinks water, and eats food, but “to live,” one has to do something that they feel passionate about, no matter what the cost is, even while facing death. In the book Station Eleven, by Emily St. John Mandel, brings alive a group of people known as the “Traveling Symphony,” in a world destroyed by a pandemic called the Georgian flu. The people in this group live by a quote, “Survival is insufficient.” As the story moves along, readers can see that this phrase becomes relevant to all of the main characters in the book.
Tales Of The Survivors The definition of survival is; “The state or fact of continuing to live or exist, typically in spite of an accident, ordeal or difficult circumstances.” My definition of survival is; to overcome something. “A Long Walk to Water” by Linda Sue Park was a book mostly about survival. In this book, both Nya and Salva are trying to survive.
Have you ever had to survive on your own? Because in this book “ A Long Walk To Water ” by Linda Sue Park two kids named Salva and Nya had to survive on their own. According to Webster survival means the continuation of life or existence problems of survival in arctic conditions. My definition of survival is to succeed in staying alive against others.
H: “Survival of the fittest” is a common phrase originating from the theory of natural selection. But what does it take to survive? B: Hyeonseo Lee proved she was a true survivor by escaping from North Korea, but returning to save her family. Aron Ralston displayed traits of a survivor when his arm was pinned to a crevice wall in Blue John Canyon, yet he never stops conceiving new ideas on how to escape. Likewise, Alison DiLaurentis and Cece Drake of the hit show “Pretty Little Liars” had to survive in hiding while they, and everyone they cared about were tormented and threatened by an anonymous being. T: Lee’s courage, Ralston’s cleverness, and Alison and Cece’s endurance show their audiences what it takes to be a survivor.

Survival is living on the hope that better things are yet to come in your life. Right now in our country people survive because of hope and the belief that people are good and they will help them out. People survive when they are homeless on the streets only because of the people who are good at heart and give them food or money to buy clothing for the winter. Gerta survived because of her family and friends. Anne Frank survived because she believed that “Despite all the evil going on in the world I still believe that all people are good at heart.”
In the book, Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler, it presents a perfect example of a Survival of the fittest lifestyle. Only the best, the smarter, and the stronger ones, is able to survive, while the weaker individuals will be killed or dead. Lauren Olamina, the main character and her group travels towards the north by finding freedom. Many people did not have the mindset to be as strong as Lauren to survive, but she was extremely careful. She has always looked out for potential enemies wanting to harm or kill, but she was also creating allies to build her Earthseed community.
“Dictionary.com” defines survival as an aspect of “remaining alive, especially under adverse or unusual circumstances” . This quote specifies that when one’s under significant circumstances, survival will become a priority. This is a theme that is very important in both novels studied this year, “Life of Pi” by Yann Martel, and “Lord of the Flies” by William Golding. This means that staying alive will become a task. People can depend on survival and become desperate to do anything for life.
Laurence Gonzales is the author of the book ‘From Deep Survival’, the topic of ‘From Deep Survival’ is about surviving with the resources you have. In a life-threatening situation some people live, while others give up. Laurence Gonzales discusses the differences between these groups by outlining a series of survival anecdotes. These stories show that survival is more than just trying to survive. It’s using your skills and knowledge to help you know what’s best to when you’re in a sticky situation and not leaving your fate in someone else's hands. “She’d get herself out. It was another important moment: She didn’t spend time bemoaning her fate. She looked to herself, took responsibility and made a plan.” (Gonzales, 27).
Survival is the driving force of life. Every living thing has a motive to survive and thrive in its environment. Survival is unique, because survival is unique it is difficult to pinpoint exactly what it requires. However, there are things that are seen over and over in situations where survival is threatened. The memoir Night by Elie Wiesel, including other texts and videos requires different things ignoring temptations, a strong sense of willpower and change.
Survival is something that requires a great amount of grit, which could be the deciding factor between life and death. Even when it seems all the odds are against you, having even a speck of grit

Survival is being able to endure and live through challenges that may wear you down (mentally or physically), and there are several ways of showing survival. “The Story of Keesh,” by Jack London, depicts survival through a harsh setting. “The Five People You Meet In Heaven,” by Mitch Albom, depicts survival through character development.
