Also mentioned is the annihilationist view which believes that people will only go to hell temporarily before ceasing to exist. Each of these views claims to have Scriptural support and believes that they know what the destination of the unsaved is after death. When looking at the doctrines of hell we should never forget the reason that we as Christians can have a debate over the nature of hell without fear of ever experiencing it ourselves. The third description of Hell is considered the place of the lost for eternity after the resurrection. This is the place where bodies are thrown and burned. It is a place of everlasting punishment where the fire is constantly burning to keep the smell of the burning flesh from becoming too strong. It is described as a place where lost spirits live, where “their worm never dies and their fire is never quenched” according to the warnings of Jesus.
