The Death Penalty in the United States is still intact, but in other Nations it has been abolished. These countries abolished it because they thought it to inhumane and cruel. One hundred and thirty-six nations have abolished the death penalty. Now in this essay I will tell the reasons some states and countries still have the death penalty and why some do not, also some cases of people getting sentenced to it when they were really innocent.

So if it is 35 out of 50 that tells us that it must work pretty well for so many states to be using it. Only fourteen states and the district of Columbia have abolished it. A pole was taken and it showed that only sixty-three percent were in favor of the death penalty. There are many cases of an innocent suspect being sentence to death. It is unfair to the innocent people and their family to have them executed for something they did not do. If the Courts of Justice were to misjudge a person and say they are guilty, they can't fix their mistake once that innocent person is killed. Executing an innocent person is the same executing any individual who kills a person in public. So would it be considered murder if the jury kills an innocent? So does that mean we should kill the jury too? It is ridiculous to just have everyone killing each other, and the issue would not get any better, but more people would get involved. People shouldn't always consider the death penalty to solve cases, because there can be wrongful judgments. Cases like this people should be punished with different methods, because when the jury makes their decision the error can't be fixed. A suspect could get the death penalty and diue if a witness gave the wrong information
