The defensive soccer clearance is a movement that requires a player to perform while under pressure from the opposing team. The defensive clearance is used to stop an attack from the opposing team who is trying to score or create a scoring opportunity. The defensive soccer clearance requires one have mobility, flexibility, stability and positioning all at the same time. Looking at all these criteria of the soccer kick the distance, speed and velocity of the kick. If one does not have mobility, flexibility and the correct distance between foot and object one will lose power, speed and distance, and will not be able to perform the movement correctly. The defensive clearance is mostly used as a defensive instinct to stop the other team from gaining an advantage that could lead to a goal by kicking the ball as far away from goal as possible to release pressure on the defense and goalkeeper.
