Abstract The purposes of this research are to: i) measure the degree of utilization of Social Networks (SNS) (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google Plus, Linked In, Flicker, Tumblr, Hi5, WhatsApp, Snapchat, and You tube) among agricultural extension personnel in KSA, ii) identify the impact of SNS in providing extension services from the viewpoint of respondents, and iii) recommend interventions to improve the utilization of SNS in agricultural extension services. An online survey with 55 agricultural extension personnel represent 22% of the total number of extension personnel in KSA (250 personnel) was conducted in April-May 2016, frequencies and percentages were used for data presentation. Sample was young (81.8% are less than 45 years old) and rather highly educated (74.5% were have university degree or high studies). Results show that the majority of respondents (60%) have a medium level of SNS utilization, while the remaining 40% were divided equally between low and high levels of utility. More than two-fifths (45.5%) declared that they highly prefer using SNS in contacting farmers, and the same percentage indicated that SNS is highly facilitate their work circumstances. Most of respondents (96.4%) stated that SNS were contributed positively in enhancing their agricultural knowledge. Study recommends eight interventions for better SNS-based extension services in KSA.
