A linear actuator (propriety part) controls the airbrake actuation to the required angle, and the assembly must withstand the stated aerodynamic loading.

Design parameters:-

• Airbrake chord length 200mm
• Maximum actuator stroke 50mm
• Maximum actuator force 250N
• Airbrake deployment angle 30 Degrees
• Deployment time 2.5 secs
• Maximum force on airbrake 400N (assume UDL)
• Maximum defection 2mm (at 400N)
• Design reserve factor 1.2 Yield / 1.5 Ultimate
• Operating ambient -10 Deg C to +40Deg C
• The weight of the bracket must be kept to a minimum
