As she is growing up the holocaust starts and she is forced to go into hiding for a few years. A similar novella titled Night follows Elie Weisel during his struggle during the Holocaust. This book is straight from Elie many years after the Holocaust, where he writes about all the pain and torture he went through as a teenager in concentration camps. Although Anne Frank and Elie Weisel didn’t go through the same torture and had different focuses, both felt value in their father and strength because of him.
It is easy to say that the Holocaust ravaged Europe itself, but it is worth noting that without Anne’s diary, understanding what the Jews went through would be insurmountably hard. We take our freedom of religion for granted, but when we examine Anne’s diary, our world that we live in is full of obscenity, and despite the havoc, Anne still continues to hope for the end. Her diary left a legacy that gives us invaluable knowledge of what went wrong in our time on earth, to both Anne and history itself. Learning from our mistakes doesn’t fix our future; it only stops us from doing the same actions again, and in doing so, we can shape the world into what Anne envisions: “I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are really good at heart.”
Anne Frank is resilent in many different ways such as being hopeful, strong, and persistant through the tough times of the holocaust. During the holocaust she got a diary from her father Otto Frank for her thirteenth birthday which helped her to keep sane and it also allowed her to express herself in writting and not actions. Grievously, someone noted the German police and they were seized on August 4, 1944 and sent to a concentration camp. There her father was disconnected from the rest of the family. Soon her mother became sick and died. A few months after their mom passed Anne and her sister Margot both had typhus. Margot passed away in February and Anne followed shortly thereafter in March 1945. Their father, Otto was the only member of their family to survive the Holocaust. She was only 15 years old when she died. To me it is really sad that a young innocent girl’s life was ripped short because she was a Jew. She never had a chance to have a childhood of liberty like she would have had today.

However, that all changed for her when World War II had begun, for the Frank family had no option but to move into a secret annex, hiding from the Nazis. The Franks couldn't have done anything else considering they were compelled to hide from the Nazis due to the fact that, at that time, the Nazis had blamed the loss of World War I on the Jewish people. Hitler and his followers were all running the mass discrimination. Besides that point, Anne Frank
