The Dolphins are off to a rough start as they begin the season 0-3. Trying to build a better reputation, the team has been working hard to improve their skills and hopefully come out with a few wins this year. So far nothing consequential has been seen from Dana as they are yet to find the element that will take their team to victory.
The stands were filled with spectators waiting to see the outcome of the homecoming game versus Pacifica. Dana and Pacifica had both lost their past two games and it was unclear who would come out on top. With a final score of 31-49, it was the most thrilling match the Dana fans had seen this season.

An exciting fourth quarter provided both teams an opportunity to score. As the Dolphins finished off the game with an additional touchdown, Sunny Hills added another 8 points to their end of the scoreboard finishing the game 17-34. Dana’s season opener ended with a smashing defeat against Marina with a final score of 14-34. Sophomore Jake Baldiviez led the team with a total rushing yardage of 121.
Nothing substantially appeared from the Dolphins as halftime ended with a scoreboard display of 0-21.
It seemed as though hope had been revived in the fourth quarter when an 80-yard run by Baldiviez put some points up on Dana’s end of the board. With 49 seconds remaining, Junior Corey Cisowski found Senior Ryder Lynch who finished off the game with a 6-yard touchdown.
The Dolphins will now prepare for their matchup against Santa Monica who currently have a 1-2 record after crushing Compton 34-14. After struggling the past two seasons in the South Coast League, the Dolphins are hoping for better luck this season as they compete in the Sea View League.
