The Dolphins are off to a rough start as they begin the season 0-3. Trying to build a better reputation, the team has been working hard to improve their skills and hopefully come out with a few wins this year. So far nothing consequential has been seen from Dana as they are yet to find the element that will take their team to victory.
The stands were filled with spectators waiting to see the outcome of the homecoming game versus Pacifica. Dana and Pacifica had both lost their past two games and it was unclear who would come out on top. With a final score of 31-49, it was the most thrilling match the Dana fans had seen this season.

An exciting fourth quarter provided both teams an opportunity to score. As the Dolphins finished off the game with an additional touchdown, Sunny Hills added another 8 points to their end of the scoreboard finishing the game 17-34. Dana’s season opener ended with a smashing defeat against Marina with a final score of 14-34. Sophomore Jake Baldiviez led the team with a total rushing yardage of 121.
Nothing substantially appeared from the Dolphins as halftime ended with a scoreboard display of 0-21.
It seemed as though hope had been revived in the fourth quarter when an 80-yard run by Baldiviez put some points up on Dana’s end of the board. With 49 seconds remaining, Junior Corey Cisowski found Senior Ryder Lynch who finished off the game with a 6-yard touchdown.
The Dolphins will now prepare for their matchup against Santa Monica who currently have a 1-2 record after crushing Compton 34-14. After struggling the past two seasons in the South Coast League, the Dolphins are hoping for better luck this season as they compete in the Sea View League. Pacific scored the first 20 points of the game with Summerfield and Williams connecting on a pair of touchdown passes and Beekman making a 34 and 22-yard field goal for a 20-0 lead. The Loggers got on the board late in the second quarter to cut the deficit to 20-7. Pacific came back with a 7 play, 44-yard drive by the Boxers that ended with Beekman making a 37-yard field goal – his third of the game – just before halftime for a 23-7 lead at the intermission.
The third quarter has just started and both teams are coming out fighting. The Ravens have a great start. Jacoby Jones just scored a record tying 108-yard kick return. A kick from Anderson started the game, not long after, QB Lucas Smith runs a 18yd touchdown, starting the game out with a 7-0 Turpin lead. The Redskins’ Kyle Blaha soon persevered through the unforgiving Turpin defense and ran a 2 yd touchdown, evening out the score out 7-7. “Our offense and defense did well, but there’s always room for improvement.” Coach Kenter explained after Turpin gave up 21 points in the first half. “But I think this was one of better games of the entire season, the team really brought it.” Second quarter brought both the Spartans and Redskins 2 new touchdowns each and an exciting 65 yard pass Turpin touchdown, Smith to Will Hausfeld. Halftime stopped the intense game at a suspenseful score of 21-21.
It’s been a few days since the Buffalo Bills defeated the Cardinals. The Bills were able to get their first win of the season in convincing fashion at New Era Field last Sunday.

Clemson was now up 14-0 at this point, in the second quarter. Notre Dame was able to get a field goal right before the half to make the score, 14-3 Clemson at halftime. The rain was coming down at a steady pace while Notre Dame’s heart was slowly being ripped apart. Then all of a sudden, BANG! Deshaun Watson totes the rock for another Clemson touchdown! This made it 21-3 Clemson in the third quarter, and the game seemingly seemed over. But wait…… the Fighting Irish came back with a vengeance. Notre Dame slowly but surely clawed back in the game and at the blink of an eye, the game came down to a 2-point conversion. It was 24-22 Clemson and overtime was decided between 2 and a half yards. The Irish ran a QB draw with Kizer and BOOM! He was stonewalled by Ben Boulware and the rest of the Clemson defense! Clemson would hang on and defeat the Irish, 24-22, in thrilling fashion! The game was just over a minute old when Mounties winger Eddie Aiono made a break down the sideline and was injured in the tackle. Play was stopped for a brief moment which would not have done either side any favours in the cold. When play got back underway it was fairly even with both sides showing solid defence.

The Wildcats (0-8-1, 0-4 NWC) challenged the Boxers’ defense for most of the contest, especially in the final 45 minutes. In the closing minutes, Linfield had three chances to cut into the lead. A Brian DeGrandmont shot in the 85th minute went high. Plus, back-to-back shots by Malachi Stalberg and Isaias Flores in the 88th minute were blocked and saves by the Boxers’ goalkeeper’ Leyton Thomassen to preserve the shutout.
