The Drums are an American indie pop band from Brooklyn, New York. When the group moved from Kissimmee, Florida to New York, they immediately got the attention of the indie world when their album Summertime was released.
The album Summertime is a collection of beach pop fantasy with tracks that are filled with sentimental yearning that really sweeps over an individual. They became an irresistible and popular band in the summer of 2009. The Summertime record has become the perfect upbeat and post-punk summer fling album to have.
The founding members of The Drums are Jonny Pierce and Jacob Graham who have been friends since they were children. Several years after being friends they created a short lived electro pop group called Goat Explosion. Afterwards Jonny Pierce developed the Elkland group and Jacob Graham formed the Horse Shoes group.
When Elkland parted ways in May 2006 Jonny decided to stop creating music for a few years. In 2008 Jonny and Jacob met back up and created the group The Drums. At that time they hired drummer Conner Hanwick and guitarist Adam Kessler. In October of 2009 their very first album was released called Summertime. In September 2010 it was broadcasted that Adam Kessler had left the band.
According to the remaining members it was devastating at first when Kessler left with no clear circumstances. This in turn introduced Chris Stein on drums and Myles Matheny doing backup vocals as well as guitar. A couple of weeks later Pierce announced the

Quickly, John and Marsha got in touch with Metallica and asked them to drive to Queens, New York, expenses paid, to talk about a record contract. After arriving in Queens, James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich announced to John Zazula that they were kicking Dave Mustaine out of the band next week.

The setting makes the story gloomy at first, but when the sun comes out for one hour, it makes the reader hopeful, but the main character missed the sun. That makes the reader’s mood depressed and sad.

The Band was formed by brothers Chad and Mike Kroeger in Vancouver, with the help of their cousin Brandon Kroeger, and their friend Ryan Peake. Brandon Kroeger (the drummer) however, is no longer in the band. He left the group in 1997, and was replaced by two other people. First he was replaced by Mitch Guidon from 1997 to 1998. Then Mitch was replaced by Ryan Vikedal from 1998 to 2005.
