A cigarette, briefly referred to as a cigar could simply be regarded as a paper wrapped roll of dry tobacco leaves which are smoothly cut. The finely cut dry leaves of tobacco are rolled to make a cylinder-like pipe which is used for smoking. A cigarette is light on one end while the other end is placed into the mouth of the smoker for inhaling. Most cigarettes have on one end a filter. Cigarettes may be made of either tobacco as earlier stated or from cloves, or cannabis. Normally a cigarette is smaller than a cigar.

Basically, e-cigarette has the main purpose of aiding the smokers to quit smoking through experiencing similar sensations of smoking without the actual tobacco smoking.
E-cigarette is believed to greatly reduce on the health effects associated with tobacco smoking. However, e-cigarette has been criticized as a leading cause of smoking among the youth due to its flavor as well as its novel appearance and campaigns. It is also believed to pose some health risks. Despite such drawbacks, e-cigarette has recently gained a lot of popularity and subsequent growth.
Electronic cigarette takes the form of the real tobacco cigarette smoking devices of pipes, cigars or cigarettes. However, most of the e-cigarette comes in various appealing and innovative devices of ballpoint pens or screw drivers. Most e-cigarette implements could be re-used as they come with replaceable and refillable equipment. On the other hand some of the electronic cigarette devices are disposable.

The product was introduced in the market in 2004 and foreign exportation of e-cigarette started in 2005/2006.
