This biotechnology approach creates a better climate, lower costs and increases quantity production in different seasons. The two main researches are the Embrapa and the topography system at the Cerrado. The Embrapa system generates genetic materials and increases production in cereals, beef, pork, fruits and vegetables. The system also extended to create resistant crop against diseases, seed development for rice, wheat, potatoes and it created different types of grass to match new livestock breeding programs. This revolutionary agricultural program embraced amazing results. By the United States Department of Agriculture, Economic research service; in the year 2010, the center west was responsible for the 75 % of the cotton, 55 % of the soybean, 36 % of the corn, and 20% of the sugarcane production in the country. Even though the technological changes are beneficial for the country, the environmental agencies and government have to implement a system to preserve the savannas vegetation (The Cerrado). The Cerrado has a topography climate and it motivates farmers and investors to invest in soybeans, corn, cotton and sugarcane.
