United States is the most developed country in the world with compliments on excellent services for everyone from children to senior. Nursing facility is a typical example of American services with its huge of amount of care facility settings for elderly: 16,639 nursing homes and 52,681 board and care homes with more than 3,000,000 beds in total. (NORS, 2010) (ncea.aoa.gov) The growth of various facility settings satisfy the need of American adult children about new caring places for their old parents, especially when the older population has been increasing: “They represented 12.9% of the U.S. population, about one in every eight Americans.”(aoa.acl.gov) However, the organization of facility settings seems out of control since the elder abuse happening at an alarming rate in different type of settings with different form of abuse such as physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect. Elder abuse is a serious problem yet seems to be disregarded. It damages elder physical and mental health gravely. Therefore, it demands people’s actions to cease it as children abuse and other criminations. Many abused cases of elderly have been found out in care facilities.
