Humans are funny to me. Of the billions of lightyears that make up the universe, an overwhelming amount of the space is void of any significant matter, dark to almost every degree. With the countless number of unique planets that exist in our everything, one stands out from all the others. A place where the universe can communicate with itself, live upon desire, and shape the future. A place we have long called home. Just the mere thought that our planet might be the only one that holds life, is such a remarkable idea. You would think that, as a culture, we would appreciate this concept and take care of Earth, however this is not the case. For the past few hundred years, we have taken advantage of our power, draining the planet of important fuels and emitting the toxic waste products into our environment. If we continue with these dangerous ways, we might not have a home for much longer. Global warming is without a doubt a major issue in today’s world that is significantly affecting us. It needs to be taken much more seriously or there could be grave consequences. Global warming is used as a general term to describe the trend of our planet getting significantly hotter over time. “Most climate scientists agree the main cause of the current global warming trend is human expansion of the greenhouse effect” (A Blanket around the Earth n. p.)
