Title: The Influence of time of day on violent Crime activity in LeDroit Park, Washington, DC.

Problem: Does the time of day effect the frequency at which violent and property crime in LeDroit Park?

Problem Background and Literature Review:
LeDroit Park is located in the 3rd District in Washington, DC. The DC Police Service Area (PSA) number is 306. LeDroit Park is located in Northwest, Washington, DC. In accordance to the Metropolitan Police Department through the annual crime totals statistics from 2008- 2012, LeDroit Park residences and business alike have been subjected to a vast amount of criminal activity in the past two years. LeDroit Park had a total violent crime rate of 6,294 in 2012, and it had the highest violent crime rates out of all 6 districts in Washington, DC (Crime Statistics- Third District Annual Crime Totals 2008-2012. (2012, January 1) Pg. 1) and continues to rise.

In accordance to the metropolitan Police Department through the annual crime report from 1/1/2013- 11/30/2014, it shows that LeDroit Park experienced an increase in their total crime rate rising from 133 to 152 reported instances with the highest in the area of total property crimes which includes burglary, theft, theft forced auto, stolen auto, and arson.
