First off, what is “Social Responsibility”? Social responsibility in business, which is also known as corporate social responsibility, relates to individuals and organizations acting and conducting business ethically and with sensitivity towards many issues including; social, cultural, economic, and environmental issues. In other words social responsibility is a business’s obligation to pursue policies, make decisions, and take actions that benefit society. Companies or individuals that strive for social responsibility have a more optimistic influence on development, business, and society. Sadly most of the crooked behavior goes unpunished. The reason why? Because of legal insignificance. If a new hire tries to take down higher-ups it could potentially ruin his/her career. In this day in time jobs are very hard to come by so this is being seen more and more. This could also have a direct impact on the employee physically and mentally. Your work environment will sometimes get a little stressful on a day to day basis but dealing with deceptive and crooked employees and higher-ups can really take a toll on someone who is morally responsible. If a company is caught in the act of financial improprieties the employees are questioned by investigators and if the investigators find that the employees are involved then they may blacklist them or they may get their professional license revoked. Businesses decide to go crooked for many different reasons. Some people get dragged in by accident. They may see or hear something that they weren’t supposed to and then be threatened with blackmail if they don’t participate. Some people do it for financial reasons, some do it just because they can, and some do it to keep up their social reputation. Eventually the truth will come out, weather it is here or earth or when we meet our maker. There are many bible verses that speak against unethical behavior.
