Jerry McCall is an office assistant for Dr. William’s. Jerry has received training as both a medical assistant and Licensed practical nurses (LPN). During the time the receptionist is out to lunch Jerry is covering for her. Jerry is faced with a common problem in the health care field today. Jerry has been asked to call in a refill for Valium to a pharmacy for a patient. This paper will address why Jerry is not qualified to refill any prescription medication. If Jerry is protected if a lawsuit is filled. Jerry’s decision is a tough one, legal and ethical issues and advice will be provided for Jerry’s use.

At the initiation of the project, I signed a research agreement with the Athabasca Denesųłiné Né Né Land Corporation. The purpose of this agreement was to identify information sharing procedures. It includes depositing all primary research data in the oral traditions archive of the Athabasca Denesųłiné Né Né Land Corporation. This agreement facilitated the prior and informed consent to conduct research with Hatchet Lake, Black Lake and Fond du Lac Denesųłiné First Nations. This insures that the ownership of the project data remains with the Athabasca Denesųłiné. It also ensures that all knowledge holders remain anonymous in the dissertation.

Take a minute to imagine yourself in the 1950’s, coming down with syphilis, or maybe a form of cancer, and heading to the local hospital for treatment. Does this scenario fill you with fear or comfort? In my personal opinion, the thought of being treated by doctors in that period fills me with dread. The medical ethics of the doctors of the time were not up to par with our current expectations. While many can argue that medical ethics have taken a decline in the recent years, I believe that the standards of the field have made a drastic increase in values, morals, and treatment of patients.

No two people are the same, and they will never be the same. Even twins have different ways of viewing things. This is the same for people ethical views, according the The Merriam-Websters Dictionary (2015) the definitions for ethics is “The rules of behavior based on ideas about what is morally good and bad.” Knowing what is morally right or wrong especially in the business world can help prevent scandals or corrupt business practices. But in today society, ethics can be blurred through situations and personal views, now it seems as though people aren’t even thinking about what is ethical but more so what can benefit them. Within recent months, news of FIFA allowing bribes to be accepted from certain people has managed to corrupted a billion dollar business and affected their corporation along with allowing the world to see their ethical views.
