Many people believe jet fuel can melt steel and others, like myself don’t. The documentary focuses on numerous buildings on fire for more than 17 hours and they still stayed standing, the structure didn’t even weaken. No fire, however severe, has ever caused a steel-framed high-rise building to collapse. The World Trade Centre was what engineers call a “tube” structure, it was made of a very strong mesh of steel. If the top of a tree were to catch fire and burn directly downward through the trunk it may seem plausible. The twin towers contained over 80,000 tons of steel, which is way denser, making it impossible for the towers to fall evenly. His second claim is that “Fires don’t suddenly destroy entire buildings evenly and completely.” He supports this claim by stating that only artificial fires would burn an entire building symmetrically. Given that natural fires leave some objects out, not everything is destroyed. The construction of the Skyline Plaza in Fairfax County came to a halt early in the afternoon on March 2, 1973. It was originally speculated by the workers on site that the crane assisting in lifting materials to the higher sections of the building failed and fell into the side of the building causing the collapse. However, Author Dov Kaminetsky conducted research alongside the National Bereau of Standards(NBS), and published his book, Design and Construction: Lessons from Forensic Investigations.[2] Kaminetsky provides the conclusion of NBS 's investigation that the collapse was a result of shear construction error. The building began to collapse as construction workers proceeded to remove the concrete shoring between the middle sector of the building, specifically the 22nd and 23rd floor. The shoring process requires the placement of a concrete structure to support a building while under construction to prevent the collapse of the operation. The result of the collapse took the lives of 14 construction workers and 35 other individuals near the building. “The (WTC) collapse appeared to be similar to a controlled demolition” (Thomas, 07/08/2011). Many speculated that the towers were in fact blown down with explosives placed in selected locations. Some witnesses accounted hearing explosions inside the building as they attempted to escape the building. Many architects and scientists maintain that jet fuel cannot produce enough heat to melt the steel frame of the two buildings. There were no planes to hit building 7 of the trade center, but it was demolished in the same fashion as the twin towers were.

After the explosion caused many buildings to collapse, people had to clear out the debris and the remains of the building.

Many news reporters stated that the reasoning behind the building’s collapse was due to the small, contained fire inside the Building. The World Trade Centers’ fell in a way that has never occurred by a normal melting of the core. According to the U.S. media, “the combined heat from the fuel and combustion caused the cores of the towers to melt, and therefore collapse” (Feuer). But as many know, a building can only collapse straight-down, when explosives are put in place. If the heat really did melt the cores, the towers would have collapsed to a side, instead of crumbling down. Many videos from 9-11 show that the concrete is jutting outwards of the building as it falls. Yet, that only occurs when explosives cause this to happen (Williamson). Some of the floors are seen to explode before the top floors crashed. This adds to the theory that there was demolition in the towers and that this demolition detonated earlier than it was supposed to.

There are two main theories on how the towers fell. One is that the weakened steel structure caused floor trusses to sag, which led to the floor collapsing, then flattening floors beneath, causing a domino effect.

The explanation that the towers were brought down primarily by the fires is a bit hard to believe. Merely due to the fact that a steel building has never collapsed as a result of a fire. MIT engineering professors, Thomas Eagar and Christopher Musso, argue that the Twin Towers were brought down by the fires that had ignited throughout the floors. The fires are said to have burned at uneven temperatures that were hot enough to distort the steel and cause it to lose its structural integrity. Yet even those who worked to build the towers were stuck looking at each other because they had no idea how what occurred with the falling of the towers could have happened. The architects who built the towers were on tape to testify against the reports. The towers were built to withstand the impact of more than one airliner. Yet Frank De Martini, (WTC construction manager) said with the attacks there was not enough damage caused to the structures to force any type of collapse especially in the manor that they did.

People believe that the September 11th collapse of the World Trade Centre’s Twin Tower was not completely due to airliners crashing into both towers. Some people believe that the crash and fires within the building that followed, were not the sole cause to the eventual collapse of both towers.

The catastrophic destruction of the World Trade Center complex is said by government reports to have resulted from structural failure due mainly to fires initiated by the impacts of the airplanes. A closer look at the evidence reveals a much more disturbing crime.Apart from the fact that no steel-framed high-rise building has ever collapsed due to fire prior to or since Sept. 11, the manner in which the buildings came down is itself a substantial cause for reinvestigation. A collapse due to fire would likely proceed gradually with large deformations visible in the building’s perimeter, with the building tipping over slowly in the direction of the steadily weakening structural members – to the path of least resistance.
