Bullying has increased significantly over the past ten years due to ease of communication, whether it be from social media such as Facebook and Instagram or through text messaging. Growing up in the midst of a rapid technological advanced has allowed me to see what only people who were born in the same year see. Most people my age have all dealt with some form of bullying whether they know it or not. But most of that bullying did not happen until everyone owned a smart phone. Once everyone owned a smart phone around the age of twelve, we saw a dramatic change in the way people communicate for both good and bad. Back when all we had were flip phones and spent much more time outside, bullying wasn’t that big of an issue. But much has changed
Incidents of bullying have always been an issue. However, as time evolves there has been an increase of issue

Almost everywhere I go, I see those around me always on their cell phones. Those cell phones are not just any type of cell phones; they can sometimes be called weapons. I do it all the time: jokingly saying some offensive words to my "friends." However, am I really their friend when I 'm doing that? Most of the time everyone thinks that it is fine to joke with a friend through a text message or email, but how would someone know whether or not it hurts their friend or even family members when they can 't even see what their reaction is without being right next to them? Bullying has been evolving over time. Bullying has happened throughout history, whether or not it has been in historical records or it has ever happened in the world; some type of bullying has occurred. It has gone to the point that when social media came out, the word cyberbullying has come into place. Though there are some people that believe teasing others on the web is just fooling around, cyberbullying has grown to a point where saying one word or sentence can lead to suicides or health problems of others. In addition, cyberbullying doesn 't just happen at a certain period, if that bully knows most of the information that a person has, it grows overtime with himself or herself. So, if cyberbullying starts at an early age, it will have an effect on a child 's development as well. Once cyberbullying starts, one common solution of talking to others about it, might not work anymore. Ways to cope with
I have been bullied my whole life, from first grade to present day(9th grade). Bullying is not fun, it really hurts. They say “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me”. Well I’m here to tell you that’s a lie. I get bullied everyday about everything; me being overweight, how dark I am, how deep my voice is. Everyday I go through this, but I have learned to deal with this. The only reason people bully you is because they're jealous of you, so that means you're doing something right. So remember ,”Be Happy, Be Healthy”. So Slay till your hair turns gray.(Anonymous 2017)The situation that this person is in is that everyday she wakes up and goes through crap and deals with it because she is already used to and she doesn't
At some point during your childhood, you may have encountered that troubled individual, typically known as the “bully” that drove fear in the hearts of the weakest link by humiliating them, taking what is rightfully theirs, constantly picking on them and sometimes even inflicting physical abuse. Well I hate to break it to you but this individual is back and is more equipped than before, preying on the weak and vulnerable in the cyber world (internet). Most recently, it took a crime wave of “cyber bullying” before our media and leaders in the Untied States gave it attention; now that the American people realize that the “classroom bully” has evolved into a more dangerously clever and
Cell phones and electronics are not to blame for the bullying and behavior. Social media sites are good for connecting family and friends easier. These devices are used to entertain people as well. Cyberbullying is different because these kids are double bullied and these kids can’t get away as easy they may get bullied verbal and physical at school then they come home and try to get their minds off it but they get get on the computer or phone and they get bullied.

Many people in today’s society are able to recognize bullying whether physically, emotionally, or mentally. Some may have fallen victim to it in their youth for trivial reasons including appearance, wealth, and popularity. However, adolescents that stutter are at constant risk of degradation due to their impairment. Speaking is critical in an academic environment and can signify intelligence. Therefore, when one is unable to speak efficiently they can fall victim to significant issues such as anxiety, depression, poor self-esteem, and shame. Once a problem is recognized and school officials are unfit to intervene, stutterers will often seek the help of a Speech Language Pathologist to reduce the effect of stuttering on daily life. Although
Older generations seem to believe they have made an impact on bullying, because the forms of bullying they knew have been changed. Bullying is no longer only causing another person physical pain or calling them names, it exist through interactions behind a screen. People can pretend to be other people through the screen where no one can see who they are, this is in empowering. There is an extent of trust between a person and the name they are communicating with, and trusting that the person responding to you is who they say they are. However, a sort of game has been created since social media became as active in the daily lives of our generation, not so affectionately called "catfishing." This term dates back to the times of primitive trade
Children deserve an environment that helps them learn best and sometimes schools are not the best option. Today’s kids are this world’s hope for the better future and need a better, healthier environment and where else than at home. Homeschooling is a great option for children to learn. Bullying is a really sketchy topic that isn’t acknowledged as much as it should be in today’s society.
Has anyone seen movies were they portray a child more than perfect? Has the charisma, intelligence, beauty, ambition, care, and has a successful life that everyone would like to have? Of course an individual will never be perfect, they will always possess good and bad traits. For an individual to find true identity and uniqueness, they have to go through the process of human development. Each person goes through different paths in life trying to explore the world to seek out their identity. Life goes through many changes, from infancy to late adulthood were there are trials and tribulations. An individual is influenced throughout life by multiple factors such as different styles of parenting, social stereotypes, ethnicities, and gender.
Bullying has been and continues to be a complex problem for victims, parents, educators, and everyone at our schools and in our communities. According to the US Department of Health and Human Services, 1 in 3 US students say they have been bullied in 2013, reported the American Society for the Positive Care of the Children. What are the origins of the bullying issue? How can it be addressed in order to significantly help reduce the numbers of bullying victims?
Bullying has been an issue for people since the very first nations started fighting each other in order to establish a hierarchy of the strong and servants of the weak, but today bullying has changed and evolved. Today there are a multitude of tactics that bullying can be done, such as physical, teasing, cyber, and psychological, which makes it easier for the bully and harder on the victim. But why is this a bigger issue now than in the past? It is because children now have improper ways of handling bullying. They start to look for other solutions to solve it other than trying to themselves even when it is a small dispute. Although, bullying isn’t just minors situations, it can grow to very dangerous for a victim. Once a child feels bullied or upsetted by another, whether it is actual bullying or not, cause problems and changes everything around them and for everyone. The proper tactic to discover if a child is really being seriously bullied or is handling it improperly can be discovered by looking at the definition and types of bullying, the way adults and children handle it, to look at the similarities and differences from a generation ago, and to pinpoint the actual problem of bullying.
Bullying has always been a hot-button topic, but due to the Internet this has become an even larger problem. "With an estimated 45 million children between the ages of 10 and 17 in the U.S. alone using the Internet every day, social interactions have increasingly moved from personal contact in the school room to virtual contact in the chat room, and Internet bullying has emerged as a new and growing form of social cruelty" (Williams & Guerra, 2007). With the rise of social media also came the rise of cyber bullying. Before the Internet, most bullying occurred only at schools or the workplace. Once the individual who was being bullied left the school or the workplace they were free from the bullying for the rest
According to a study done by Patchin and Hinduja “students who experienced cyberbullying, as either victim or offender, had significantly lower self-esteem than those with little or no experience with cyberbullying” (Farber,et al, 1226). This is a problem expectably for children because they don’t usually know how to get help and are too afraid to tell adults about the bullying they experience. Today many adults don’t realize how big of an issue online bullying and harassment is in today’s younger generation. The younger generations grab their brand-new iPhones and simply text, email, or use social media to harass their peers, instead of walking up to one another and saying things face to face. Most people of the older generations would say just walk up to them it would be easier and more efficient, however what if the conversation that was trying to be held was embarrassing or hard to say? This is what many on the younger generation are facing, risky things are becoming easier said over technology then in person, “43% of teenagers surveyed reported that they use IM’ing to express something they wouldn 't say in person” says Farber. Therefore, cyber bullying is becoming such an issue for children today, children think they can say anything without a consequence and don’t realize the pain they are causing through the LED screen.
