Fiscal year 2014 (ended March 31, 2015) consolidated revenues totaling in 9,775 billion yen ($90.5 billion). Hitachi focuses on Social Innovation Business, which includes information and telecommunication systems, power systems, environmental, industrial and transportation systems, and social and urban systems, as well as the sophisticated materials and key devices that support them. (Hitachi Website, 2016) With solutions through “collaborative creation,” Hitachi’s strategy is to deliver innovations that can make a positive impact on our changing world. Hitachi has identified its mission: “contributing to society through the development of superior, original technology and products.” (Hitachi website, 2016) Without changing its structure, Hitachi intends to increase innovation capabilities by utilizing teamwork and their extensive experience in global markets. Purpose Hitachi seeks to accelerate its global innovation business through collaborative creation more effectively, as its mission describes. My task in this report is to help execute Hitachi strategies to increase innovations more worldwide, by changing its culture and rewards system.
