Another quality was that of supreme strength in movement. His dancers were rock solid, and Graciela Daniele, the well-known choreographer and director of musicals at Lincoln Center, felt that Cole dancers were "warriors." An excellent description of this aspect of the Cole style was given by critic Debra Jowitt, who said " Cole dancing strikes me as immensely aggressive; almost every gesture is delivered with maximum force, but then has to be stopped cold in mid-air to achieve the clarity of design he wanted...an immense counter effort has to be used to stop the gesture."
During the past few years my attention has been held captive by the amazing ballerinas of NYCB, so I am not that familiar with the current members of the ABT corps. But I am glad to hear that so many of them are outstanding dancers. When we reflect about promotions we must always remember the absolute necessity for some dancers who are impressive to remain in the corps—both at ABT and
“What are you even doing here? I have never seen such flawed technique in all my years as a choreographer.” The words echoed throughout the medical college auditorium. Impelled by the admonishment in front of my peers, I persevered in my endeavor to improve upon my dancing prowess and by the final year of medical school was leading the college dance team. The above mentioned undertaking further spawned an interest for the discipline of Latin Ballroom which lead to participation at the national level. The unwavering focus and persistence even in the face of unfavorable odds is more broadly reflective of my approach towards learning, both academic and extracurricular. This has been instrumental in achieving stellar academic outcomes including being ranked nationally in the top 0.0004 percent in the premedical test and the top 0.6 percent in the common aptitude test for management training.

The New York City Ballet conducted a dance performance titled “New Beginnings” on the 57th floor of the Four World Trade Center in New York. The performance took place September 12th, 2013 and was intended to commemorate September 11th, 2001. A tragic event, such as September 11th, tends to leave a bitter taste in one 's mouth. The public is generally heartbroken, angry, and distressed. This performance seeks to influence the general US audience by using dance as a means of changing the perception of the aftermath of disaster. By following a narrative structure, the dance performance begins by setting the scene of New York City. The performance is then followed with analogies through dance designed to provide moments of action, climax, and resolution. The New York City Ballet uses pathos and an instance of logos through movements to enforce their attempt to alter one’s perspective. There is plenty of pathos used throughout the dance performance in order to motivate a change in thinking from the audience. I believe this strategy was extremely effective because by influencing how the audience emotionally reacts to the performance there is more likely to be a change in audience perception. The ballet incorporates inductive reasoning by taking the specific situation of September 11th and implying that, after tragedy, we will ultimately have a “new beginning”. I believe the logical appeal of this implication is effective because the audience is naturally inclined to believe if
In one my classes; Dance Appreciation, I had an assignment to view a dance piece on YouTube. The dance that I viewed was called “She without arm, he without leg, Hand in Hand”. The dance was not only informative, but it was enlightening to watch.

I attended the fall dance concert in Stewart theatre at North Carolina State University. I was quite excited about attending this event because it was my first time being in the new Talley Student Union. Once I entered I was a little late, while waiting for the previous performance to come to an end. I spoke with the woman at the door, she informed me that the second section was about to start and gave me her opinion on how she thought the second part of the show was better than the first anyhow afterwards chuckling. There were different styles of dances combined within the concert and I found it eye catching because their was a mix of the older modern and the new style of modern.
There are many aspects a performing artist must manage, such as rehearsals, technique classes, and social events. As a student, Holt had a chance to hone in on these skills. At the University of Oklahoma, students studying dance are expected to attend rehearsals, technique classes, as well as academic classes. This prepares students for what a career in their discipline will be like. While time management is an essential part of maintaining a performing arts career, there are various other resources that one needs to utilize for an individual striving for
