In the past few decades, research paper writing in the field of finance has gained lot of popularity. This research paper writing has served as a platform for the researchers all around the world to present their studies and findings. The current study investigates the overall structure of research article (RA) introductions written in English by native and non-native authors. In order to be recognized internationally, non-native authors have to report their research finding in English. The importance of this recognition amongst the international audience is well acknowledged all over the world. To be a part of international research publication, the non-native authors are not only compelled to write in English but also they are supposed to meet the basic criteria and conventions attached to the RA writing practices in English for their RA to be successfully published in English. Therefore, a comparative analysis of research article introductions written in English by native and non-native authors in presumed to be important so as to understand the kind of structure followed by the native English researchers which would be helpful for the non-native authors who want their work to be published internationally. In order to accomplish this goal, the current study uses Swales’ (1990) Move structure CARS model as shown in table 1 below
