The First Apple Mac Operating System

Introduction: In this assignment, I will explain the role of hardware and software components within a computer system. Furthermore, I will explain how they relate to digital graphics.I will also recommend suitable components for Cambridge Industrial Design. (P1)

The Mac OS is the product of Apple, which was created in 1976 by the late Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniac. Mac OS, unlike Microsoft's Windows, is an operating system designed only for the Macintosh computers. Whereas Microsoft's creation of Windows seemed more or less linear after the late 1980's, Apple circulated a number of different computers with different OS’s, such as the Apple II, Apple III, the Lisa, in addition to the line of Macintoshes. The ultimate brilliance behind Apple's development of its operating systems is vertical combination: Mac also develops both its own hardware and software. However Microsoft takes a different approach: it provides the OS that is used by almost all IBM compatible computers manufactured. Of all the individual personal computer ventures that Apple started however, only the top sellers of the Macintosh remain in production and continue to evolve.

Before digital technology was available in graphic design, conceptual and production methods were simply through training hand-letter type, thumbnails and sketches . As design methods evolved accordingly, marks of individualism at the drawing board vanished and are now replaced with the capacity to command technological means of production . Digital softwares can be fully utilized to help create and finish all aspects of a project to a high professional manner and at the same time, ease the process of origination. Not only has it changed the way a design is created from scratch, it has also transformed the way designers and clients collaborate and interact with each other on professional level . With so much convenience and accessibility, there is no doubt why digital technology is able to make a significant impact on graphic design.

For decades the digital war between Macintoshes (Macs) and Personal Computers (PCs) has been a never ending struggle to see who ranks the better competition. Because Microsoft has dominated the software field, more and more businesses use PCs rather than Macs. But does that make the PC better than the Mac. Let 's take a trip back in time and review the evolution of a computer company. It 's not IBM or Microsoft. This company is Apple Computers, Incorporated.

There is a point in ones life where they are confronted with the arduous task of deciding what computer is best for them, this decision process is usually decided on a few factors which are price, reliability, security, storage space and of course the computers speed. Microsoft released their first desktop in 1977; although, Apple came in late to the competition, it had became popular because it was the first personal computer with a graphical user interface.
