Terrorism is an act of violence as a way to create fear and terror to achieve a political, religious, or ideological aim. This term originated from the 18th century around the time of the French Revolution but was becoming popular in the media while President Ronald Reagan was president. Then after the 1983 Beirut bombing and again after the horrible attack from 911. Terrorism changed a lot in an Ameriican helped make the United States more aware and gain more security as far as TSA security in airports and border and custom patrol. There are five types of terrorism Dissent, State Sponsored, religious, Quasi, and the left and right terrorism. Terrorist often targets civilians and noncombatants and are usually sub-national. The common causes of terrorism are for personal and individual based such as negative identity and moral disengagement. Other cause can be because of civilization or culture clashes and religious conflict.

State Sponsored terrorism is committed by the governments and their agencies enemies internally or externally on a state or government and is the most organized terrorist act. State terrorism is states and the government support of certain polices coming from intimidation and violence and feeling repressed. For example, when the Hutu government in Rwanda killed approximately 500,000 Tutsi as an act of terror for the assassination of the Rwandan president.
