Doctors prescribed him silver nitrate to calm his nerves but when he continually increased the dosage, his skin began to turn blue. Not being able to find a job or fit into society, The Blue Man came to Ruby Pier, the only place he felt he could lead a normal life. Eddie, then a small child, ran in front of Joseph’s car one day in an attempt to catch a ball. Joseph slams on the breaks but the sudden excitement was too much for his already frail heart and he died from a heart attack. This incident showed Eddie how much of a significant impact his actions had on the people around him, even if he didn’t realize

There are simple things in life that could mean something so important, yet our society doesn’t seem to notice it. Well, in this novel, it is the perfect example of that. Throughout the book, The Five You Meet In Heaven, an eye catching quote was stated. The author Mitch Albom mentions, “Nothing important. No bank statements. No insurance policies. Just a black bow tie, a Chinese restaurant menu, an old deck of cards, a letter with an army medal, and a faded Polaroid of a man by a birthday cake, surrounded by children.” Each of those items represent an important character in the novel. Throughout the novel, Eddie also can be exemplified as a sympathetic character. sympathetic characters are when readers feel sympathy for throughout a story. The reader can feel empathy for Eddie, when the author describes the pain of Eddie’s gunshot wound. The pain was described to be unbearable and the description of the event of the gunshot pains a morbid picture in the reader’s mind. During, Eddie’s time as a soldier, he experienced, “A piercing pain ripped through Eddie's leg. He screamed a long, hard curse then crumbled to the ground. Blood was spewing below his knee. Plane engines roared. The skies lit in bluish flashes. He lay there, bleeding and burning, his eyes shut against the searing heat, and for the first time in his life, he felt ready to die,” (Albom 84). The reader can comprehend Eddies suffering and pain. Eddie was on the ground, in a war zone hurt and slowly dying. Readers can feel a lot of sympathy for when Eddie wanted to let go of the world and die. Before Eddie’s death, he ran under a falling amusement park ride to save a little girl, Eddie
When you imaging heaven, what do you think it would be like? In this particular movie an elderly man named Eddie has a very unique experience of going to heaven, where he meets five people. Before he passed away, Eddie worked at an amusement park called Ruby Pier. When he was just a little kid, his dad worked there and he would go to work with him a lot, so he got to know the park very well. He ended up working as the maintenance man until he was 83 years of age. One day one of the rides broke down, and it was falling towards a little girl who Eddie tried to save. As he died, he felt the little girl's hands but he wasn’t sure if he saved her or not. While he is in the afterlife, he meets five different people who each have a lesson to teach him. Of those five people who he meets in heaven, the three most important are, the blue man, the war captain, and Tala.
As I read The Five People You Meet in Heaven it helped me really think about my life and the importance of others no matter how insignificant they may seem. In the story, the main character, Eddie died due to an accident at the boardwalk he worked at. After he died he went to heaven and met five very different people who he may have met personally or not, none the less, as he was ‘passing on’ per se, they explained their significance and how it sculpted his life. During this he A was able to find closure and was able to finally be at peace. Due to this, it made me think
Together in Heaven they sat. They had never met before, yet everyone there seemed to know them. Thousands of people were gathered around the two men, asking for autographs. The men obligied. The two men could see many similarities between themselves.
Eddie came to peace with his life and his death. Throughout his life he felt like he was stuck at Ruby Pier, unhappy and doing the same thing over and over again. When he gets to heaven he does not understand why he died. He thinks his life was boring and unimportant and his death was a waste because he does not even know if he saved Amy or Annie. Going through his five people, each with a different lesson to help teach Eddie why certain things happened,
Don Piper's book '90 Minutes in Heaven' opens with the main character dying in a car accident. This side of the story is about a man who has fragile health and can’t afford for kids to run across the street to get a ball. “A man is behind the wheel of a Ford Model A, which he has borrowed from his friend to practice driving.” “Suddenly a ball bounces across the street, and a boy come running after it.” “The car skids, the tires screech.” “The man feels dizzy and his head drops, the automobile collides with another.” “The blood from his coronary arteries no longer flow to his heart.” ( pg. 25 5 people you meet in heaven). This relates to the quote because the more you read the quote the meaning changes. Each person is linked to another in some way shape or form. This is just some of what the quote has to talk
The Five People you Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom was many similarities and some differences between the movie and book. This book is about a man who dies thinking that he has done nothing to impact the lives of people. Little does he know there is five people waiting in heaven to tell him that he did help. Three of the many similarities is that in both the movie and the book Eddie runs into his helmet and rifle from when he was in the war. Also in both he runs into the fire thinking that there is someone in there. The last similarity that I am going to share with you is that like in the book the movie has the captain blowing up. Now there are some differences between the book and the movie. One is that in the movie that had little clips from

The second person he meets is his captain from the war.
