Fitness is suddenly a new buzzword.Everybody is talking about keeping themselves fit .It has caught the fancy of the people of all ages ,shapes and sizes .Our neighbourhoods have seen a mushrooming of gymnasiums and spas. Earlier they were seen only in five star hotels but now can be seen at every street end or a part of every society .It has become customary for every society to have a ‘gym’ also .This phenomenon can be partly attributed to the sedentary lifestyle and the junk food we keep gorging on . The other motivating factors also include size zero of Kareena or a six pack abs of Sharukh Khan .Apart from this , it is important to remain fit and to shed all those extra kilos. The main motive is

Fitness can be classified as a service .It also bears all the characteristics of services ' intangibility, inseparability, variability and perishability.Fitness is intangible and cannot be seen tasted or heard. Even the results cannot be known before hand .It is inseparable and also depends on the provider ' client interaction. It is of course variable and also perishable .It cannot be stored .Time once allotted in a gymnasium can not be realloted.

Like all other product and services that have a Product Life Cycle, fitness also has one. PLC is a bell-shaped curve, which portrays the distinct stages through which a product passes each posing different challenges, opportunities and problems to the seller. This curve is divided into four stages ' Introduction, growth , maturity and decline.
1) Introduction ' A period of slow sales growth as the product is introduced in the market. Profits are non ' existent because of the heavy expenses of product introduction. 2) Growth- A period of rapid market acceptance and substantial profit improvement. 3) Maturity- A slow down in sales growth because the product has achieved acceptance by most potential buyers. 4) Decline- Sales show a downward drift and profits erode.

Fitness has grown to a multibillion dollar industry. The idea of fitness has influenced millions of lives whether the correlation was as a career, lifestyle, or an occasional hobby. People globally compete in bodybuilding, physique, and powerlifting meets earning thousands of dollars depending on their successes. Though they seem pointless at first, even the sixty second long infomercials on television advertising the new and approved anywhere gym equipment or perfect diet has made the viewer at least contemplate their health. People often confuse fitness as a sole concept of either exercising or dieting, but fitness depends immensely on both. Some people in the fitness industry manipulate diet and exercise to create the body stature they desire.
Living a healthy lifestyle is a goal many individuals have and that could either be eating vigorous nutritious meals or being active outside in the world, going to the gym for instance. The condition of being physically fit and healthy is what fitness is. Not many people realize the importance of it until they can’t fit in their own jeans. Many individuals argue that there isn’t enough time for the gym or that there is no point in going because it can cause injury, but in reality, it’s all worth it after you realize the outcomes of working out and eating healthy. There is always time to make your life fit and healthier. In order to join this discourse community, a person must learn the typical ways people in that community interact and argue. I will demonstrate that I have entered this discourse community of fitness by obtaining necessary knowledge, establishing strong credibility, and learning to influence other members of the community to strive for more.
Fitness is one of the most growing industries in the world. We see it everywhere at the stores, on our televisions, and all around us. We were taught in school that we need to stay fit and healthy or we would become fat and obese. Fitness is so big now because of our recent problems with obesity.
