As we are approaching the road to the International Baccalaureate Diploma, there is a preponderant need to become prepared for what will be coming our way. In order to familiarize ourselves with what is coming our way, we were assigned a source evaluation paper. In this paper, our goal was to firstly select a topic we are essentially interested in and then determine scholarly sources that would greatly aid us in formulating a potential research exposition. Our job was to find two sources that are written by scholars within our topics; their “scholarliness” is fundamentally judged by whether they have pursued a doctorate degree in their field of study or not and the date of publication. He received his PhD at Dropsie College of Hebrew and Cognate Learning in Philadelphia, writing his dissertation on Isaac Abrabanel, a Jewish scholar and statesman who opposed the banishment of Jews from Spain. In his book, called The Founding Fathers of Zionism, Netanyahu explores the many points of view of Zionism and the impact it has created on the persons involved along with the spread of Zionism across the Jewish community. The core reason of approaching this topic, Zionism was because of the personal connection I have towards it. Zionism was portrayed in one way all my life and it was an unclear topic that I became to grow to want to learn more about. I really wanted to look more into it in the summer of 2014, when Palestinians were being massacred and killed in various violent ways in Palestine by Zionists. The news always briefly went over the thousands of people that were getting killed without actually explaining the cause and effect and overlooking each life that was taken away. This gave me the urge to dig deeper into the concept of Zionism and the roots of where it came from, and how it had formed and spread to have influenced the people. Netanyahu was able to demonstrate in-depth all aspects of Zionism and demonstrate his influence.
