Through the events that occur, family support, and symbols readers can find similarities and differences while at the same time finding clues that certify that these two pieces of writing are about struggle.

Louise Erdrich's short story, "The Red Convertible," follows two Native American brothers and their evolving relationship over time as well as their adventures in their red Olds.
