The game was supposed to start at 3 o’clock, but it never started right on time anyway. I asked my dad to look at his phone to see what time it was, 2:55 right on the dot. I got out of the pool and put on a towel to run inside. I sat right in front of the TV on the couch. My parents walked in after me. “Honey don’t sit on the couch or else you’ll get it wet”, said my mom, I really wasn’t listening, “AVERY, get off the couch now!”
I moved down to the floor and took the remote looking through the channels to find the game. I found it right when the announcers were still talking about the starting players. They had just said my favorite player, Alex Morgan, was on the starting line up. My mom brought over a bowl of popcorn to eat, even though I wasn’t supposed to eat it because of my braces, but no one would know. The game started and I sat up on my knees so intrigued with the game in the first four seconds. Within a few minutes the US had scored and I was going crazy.
I screamed right in my dad’s face, “The third minute. They scored in the third minute. Did you see Lloyd coming in there Japan? NO you didn’t, no you didn’t!” “Oh this is going to be a very interesting game, isn’t it!”, my dad said calmly looking at my mom, who had been sitting on the floor.
I was on the ground again trying not to get the couch wet, because that would be frowned upon by my mother. I was now sitting criss- crossed applesauce when the US got back down to Japan’s side of the field. I stood up
It wasn’t any normal game it was the championship game. I really didn't have any worries because my team was really good. The other team was good too because that team had beat us before and they beat us by a lot of points. I was texting my friends while I waiting for the game cousin told me
We were in the field first and the first inning was fairly slow but we got through it without any runs given up. Then we got to the bottom half of the inning and Kedar was the lead-off batter. He got a single to centerfield, then I was up. I stepped in the box and it felt as my heart was gonna implode because I was nervous for my first at-bat. The pitcher threw the ball and right out of his hand I could tell that I could hit it. The ball came in like a jet, it seemed as if I could hear it zipping through the air.
I must have seen too many innings during my first game with my father, because i could not stop talking about how good the game was. During the first practice with my own baseball team, I could vividly recall what happened in the previous day. After my father had informed me that he would take me to the baseball game. This was going to be a better opportunity for my case because I was going to learn more about baseball. Although I wasn't sure he was going to take me to the real game unlike other days when he used to stop me from
In that moment I knew it was going to be an interesting game. I went back and sat with my family and I
We started to move, going to my first championship game in a couple of years. It was a short ten minute drive to the rink, we got onto the highway, and we were greeted by traffic. I thought to myself, “Great, now i'm going to be late.” So my dad sped up and weaved in and out of the traffic, trying to rush me to my game. We finally got out of the traffic and I arrived to the rink. I got out of the car, blasting my music in my ears. Grabbing my bag, I tripped and got my pants dirty and wet with snow. Something bad happened again, I ignored it because I was trying to focus on the game. I walked inside the rink and I could smell and feel the cold ice. One of my teammates came up and said what locker room we are in. I followed him to the locker room and grabbed a spot in the corner and started to get my warm up clothes
The other team had just caught up with us at five points, and we worked so hard to get the five points that inside I just felt like I was going to cry. I was holding back my tears, I looked around the dugout and it looked like my whole entire team had the same feeling that I did. I suddenly jumped at my couch yelling "Time for the out field."
We arrive to the field and see all of our fans there tailgating and cheering us on as we got off the bus. We make the walk into the stadium and watch the other team play before we start warming up. I remember it being cold and playing with my breathe as I see if come out of my mouth. We start warming up, Johnny a friend who I met in pre-k and I are right next to each other. The game then started and we were playing Florence our opponents took a quick 1-0 lead off of a free kick we gave up. I was playing center back along with Johnny and we were mostly responsible because we were the defense. Shortly after going down a goal in the 30th minute of the first half we have a corner I am taking it. I send the ball in the air in the middle of the penalty box where Johnny heads it in and tie the game at 1-1. Time goes on and it starts to get colder and rain just a little which makes it even worse conditions to be playing soccer in. We then have a friend kick and our forward Evan
The alarm sounded signaling that it was time to start the game. Each team got their line up and went out on the field. Tweet. The whistle blew and the game started. The game was boring at the beginning. It was not very physical until a player from Pike and I collided going for the ball. We both fell and hit the grass hard. Eventually we both get up and continue to play. I soon started noticing my chest tighten and I began
It was interesting how tough it got. After this terrible, great, bad, fun day we sat down and got calm after the game, ready for a sermon. I got excited when I heard that Monica Pankratz was going to preach. She walked on stage and said “boys can you please exit to the right so you will have a sermon outside with my husband.” So right at that moment the boys left the room.
It was a saturday morning I had to get up and get ready for my baseball game. It was one of the most important games me and my team had ever played we were going up against a team called Storm Red, we started off the game not so good but we came back in the last couple of innings we stated a rally we were scoring and scoring over and over again. We ended up mercy ruling which means we scored to much for the other team to come back and win the game so we won 13-5.
The mens’ soccer game vs. South Alamacen was the athletic event which I attended. The game was at home at the soccer field and it started at 6:00 PM, August 23. The game was comprised of two 45-minute halves with no overtime, so it was possible for the game to end in a tie. Early in the first half of the game, South Alamacen scored two goals, making the score 2-0 with South Alamacen in the lead. With 26 minutes remaining in the first half, NCSSM scored which made the score 2-1. Three minutes later, South Alamacen scored which made the score 3-1, but two minutes after that Joe Benson scored for NCSSM making the game 3-2 with 20 minutes left in the first half. Many students were in attendance, with more students showing up as halftime drew to a close. By halftime, there was a student section full of kids while parents filled up the other two bleachers.
My mom said we were going to the game, but the way she looked at me just did not feel right. I did not think we were going watch his boss's daughter play softball. We got into the van and left the parking lot to our hotel. We were not even driving for ten minutes before we stopped again, and it was not at a softball field. They lied. It was another parking lot, but we had to pay to park in this one. After we paid for parking, we turned a curve, and a big, blue, black, and white sign caught all of our attention. The kids screamed , Timothy and I screamed, we all screamed. We pulled into Sea World. None of us had ever been to Sea World, and we could not wait. The parking lot was so packed you could barely find a spot, but we got lucky and found one open spot. We raced each other out of the van, and even got into trouble because, "That is not how you behaved in public!" Those were mom's favorite words to say to us, but we were truly excited
It was a baseball game day in the heat of July. I can remember warming up on the field for about five minutes and I was already sweating like a dog, I was drenched from head to toe full of sweat. During warm ups all I could think about was drink cold water and just jumping into the lake to cool off after the game. Little did I know that this scorching summer day was going to spark my baseball career for the rest of the season and for the rest of my life. Before every baseball game my dad would either text my mom or call me and would always ask me to hit a homerun for him, and everytime I would tell him I will try my best.
As the whistle blew and we started the game, I sat on the sideline in the freezing cold, tiny snowflakes falling from the gray sky. We scored a touchdown, then another, we traded scores for the whole first half. At one point in the game our running back fumbled the ball
July 30, the day I was leaving for California. My mom, my brother, my grandma, and I all leaving for the big trip. After a seven hour plane ride, we arrived. My mother was in line to pick up our rental car, the wait which felt like a million years. Slouching on top of all the suitcases and imaging all my teammates laying out in the sun, swimming and having fun in the water made me feel bitter and antsy. We finally got our car and we were on our way to the hotel. It was another hour car ride, eventually we got to the beach. From there on out my day could not have gotten better. The water was as cold as Antarctica and yet it felt so good against my sweaty skin. At about 5 o’clock my coach decided we would hold practice. The field was in a park it looked like something out of the 1920s Great Depression, homeless people everywhere, but we made best with what we have gained. I had not had anything to eat since 6 o’clock that morning, but being the strong fighter I am, I tried to fight the pain of hunger off and finish through practice and get some food afterwards. Turns out my body could only handle so much, I was standing up painfully fielding the balls hit at
