During The Great Depression, the New Deal Instituted many programs where some had many accomplishments some many failures and some had both accomplishments and failures. The programs that had the greatest impact of the Great Depression were the creation of the securities and exchange commission, The works Progress Administration, the Fireside Chats, and the Wagner Act. The programs that had some accomplishments and failures were the civilian conservation corps, the Tennessee Valley Authority and the institution of the Social Security. Lastly, the program that had nothing but failures was the Court Packing Plan.

It also forced people to show their statistics of their stock. This showed the buyer how much that stock made and how much that stock loss.The second biggest accomplishment for The New Deal was the Works Progress Administration also was a big success during The Great Depression. This program instituted many great things including, hiring people such as artists, actors, and writers who were unemployed, build lots of infrastructures and gave children hot school lunches while providing women in need jobs to work. According to Ellen S. Woodard, writer of “Hot Lunches for a million school children, she wrote: The WPA is making it possible for the many underprivileged children of the present to grow into useful healthy citizens of the future.” ( Document D) The WPA helped save many lives during The Great Depression, this is why it's labeled as an accomplishment. The third accomplishment for The New Deal was the Fireside Chats was instituted to let the President to directly address the people about the Great Depression This allowed citizens to hear the president's voices as well as letting the president to spread hope to American citizens. The Civilian Conservation Corps accomplishments included the restoration of resources, recreational opportunities, and the building of national state’s parks. The failures of this program were that Civilian Conservation Corps was that it gave money to a small segment of the population, it took taxpayers money ,and it was only for young white men. According to experts of the Digital History Online Textbook, many New Deal Programs discriminated against African Americans. The document said “Roosevelt feared that conservative southern Democrats, who had seniority in Congress and controlled many committee chairmanships, would block his bills if he tried to fight them on the race question.(Document B)” This is why the Civilian Conservation Corps is labeled as a success and a fail. It helps citizens but not many. The second New Deal program that had accomplishment and failures was the Tennessee Valley. The accomplishments that the Tennessee Valley made was it provided cheap electrical power to rural areas, and it provided employment in rural areas. The failures that this program had was that since they provided lots with electricity, they had to build a lot of dams, which is bad for the ecosystem.
