The Great Outdoors The outdoors are a way to explore a vividly beautiful world and to do so much more. It’s not just about the trees and the flowers, but it’s about exploring and learning new material every day about nature and wildlife. The outdoors is a creative place to learn, have some fun, provides health benefits, and activities, such as hiking. The outdoors provide tremendous ways to do something that I’d never thought of doing. For example, hiking, in my viewpoint, I have never, personally, thought about hiking before. Then I came to the conclusion that it was one of the most astonishing activities to do. Hiking can be the experience to see the outside world and to discover new possibilities just by trekking up a little path
Forests, lakes, and rivers are the places I love to spend my time. No matter what I am doing outside I will always be happy. My favorite part about being an outdoorsman has to be dressing for the weather. Living in Minnesota I learned the weather can change overnight, and I am always prepared. My eagerness to be outside was influenced by my family at a young age. I enjoy hiking through beautiful forests and cross country skiing over frozen snow covered lakes. I spend so much time in nature I learn to appreciate things on a whole different level. Nature has so much beauty and mystery it cannot be
Have you ever been forced to leave and explore the world? Well that's relatable, it's the only option left for the immigrants trying to blaze a trail to travel on safety. But people don't wanna risk getting hurt or trespassing into someone's land.
Being outdoors offers opportunities for doing things in different ways and on different scales than when indoors.
The Great Plains has a continental climate. This region has warm summers and cold winters, the major source of moisture there is the Gulf of Mexico. The Southern plains have 15 to 25in (381 to 635mm) of rain annually.³ Rainfall takes place more in the summer than in the winter. The Southern parts of this region have a developing season of 70 to 100 days.³ The southern part of this region also gets 10 to 20in of rain.³ The Great Plains has always been notorious for its incalculable weather and natural disasters. Some of these natural disasters consist of hail storms, blizzards, floods, drought, and tornadoes. The worst and most dreadful natural cataclysmic ever to hit the Great Plains was the Dust Bowl of the 1930s (Also known as the dirty thirties).
In turn, this allows the visitors to experience the natural beauty, charm, and spiritual significance of the “true world” in almost the exact same light as even the earliest of environmental philosophers, such as Henry David Thoreau. Being exposed and actually walking through these lands allows people to go beyond their desktop screensaver aesthetic admiration for the natural world and really connect to and feel in their own individual way the majestic powers of the wild. One example, among many, of these powers would be the opportunity for extreme solitude, time for personal reflection, and an outlet for escape. The benefits of such introspection could entail an increased sense of vitality, self reliance, confidence and moral strength. “New Englander Joseph Knowles proposed setting aside ‘wild lands’ and establishing outdoor communities where Americans could retreat from the ‘commercialism and the mad desire to make money that have blotted out everything else leaving us not living, but merely existing.”’ There are no advertisements trying to persuade one to buy this, or upgrade to this new form of “must have” technology in the wilderness. There is no boss or professor demanding work or assignments, there is just pure bliss. When people get out and really smell the pollutant free fresh
My central idea for this topic is for my audience to be aware that spending time outdoors is important for the body and mind and helps you relieve stress more so than having not to spend time outdoors. Spending more time outdoors can be done in many ways and it is healthy for your body.
The mystery and beauty of nature are some of the greatest phenomenons to ever exist. There are no limits to what you may discover and witness while outside and exploring. The advancement of technology has strayed today's youth far away from nature and the outdoors. Today’s prototype of success has caused people to move away from nature and instead follow laid out paths that will ensure a large income. Many brave and courageous people, such as Chris McCandless, have abandoned society and began their own pursuit of happiness. But what about nature and the wilderness is it that draws so many people to it?
Philmont Scout Ranch wrote the Wilderness pledge to protect the 137,000 acres of land, so that the lucky scouts that get to go and see the beauty of the land see the same thing as the person before them (Philmont). When over one million people have gone through the camp, the Wilderness Pledge that was created had to have helped because the land has not changed much, except of the trail. In the 1960s the US government wanted a plan to protect the environment and came up with Leave No Trace (Marion). The Wilderness Pledge does not seem like it is important to our country, but it help in the creation of Leave No Trace a national movement to protect the environment.
The Interior Plains is also one of the many geographic regions Canada has. It stretches from the Atlantic Ocean all the way to the Gulf of Mexico. It is about 1300 kilometres wide in the south and only 275 kilometres in the north. The Interior Plains cover some parts of Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta, British Columbia, Northwest Territories and Yukon. The interior Plains of Canada is composed of rolling hills and large flat valleys. It is also composed of deep wide river valleys. What composed those rolling hills are the deposits left by the glaciers. In the southern parts of the Interior Plains soil can be found, perfect for growing wheat. Some parts of the Interior Plains also contain a vast amount of minerals, oils, natural gases, and potash.
How being outside can deeply change who we are and how being outside can alter our ways and mentality. "(Allen 1).She explain how people will want to go out with nature untill they actually do go and see what comes to them. The city people that would like toexplorw with nature are not sure, they don't know all the troubles nature has to give. It has a lot more than just to look at trees and walk on paths.
By exploring nature, a person can also explore themselves. By being alone, a person can also learn more about themselves because they begin to live life without holding
Being outdoors is an amazing solution to spending time with family and friends. It is a fun approach to mingling and enjoying quality time with them. In addition to that, you are outside spending time in nature. Taking a break from your everyday life to enjoy what mother nature provides for us, has many advantages. But, before you start heading to the campground, you should know of all the positive aspects that you will get once you get outdoors.
As I left behind the somber forest, I now recognized an appreciation for nature that I did not realize I had. I now knew there was more to nature than just trees and animals, but also I found the
Walking through the trail full of mud and leaves always made me think about my life. It was always there when I needed to walk and get things off my mind. Looking around watching the leaves fall off tree after tree flying like butterflies, all different colors. When they stopped, they immediately died and they were not coming back alive again. Piled leaves filled up under trees and children ran and jumped on them like they were pillows. These trees tripled the height of humans with numerous branches holding hundreds of leaves. While walking the river flows and it is such a beautiful view with the sun shining right off of it. The ducks and little birds chirping and floating through the smooth water puts a joy to my face.
